Star wakes up in the morning and yawns a bit thinking "Guess I fell asleep..". She gets up holding back a moan."Stomach ache..".She guessed it was from all those s'mores she at.Quietly she looks for some medicine to take to help calm her stomach.

Angeles was in her room, pacing. Her physical appearance had gone from twenty-eight to fourty from the lack of blood and now her constant worry. Chris had almost been captured by the enemy, and the prophecy was once more fresh in her mind. Xei had not been around for a while, but was it possible that the curse had stayed behind?

"Nothing can happen without the door," came D's calm voice, "she always had the door with her. If she's gone, the door is also gone."

Angeles stopped and D's head tilted down slightly at the utterly pleading expression on her face.

"Go downstairs and relax."

"No," said Angeles simply, beginning to pace again, "I bring those people down enough as is."

Chris, too, had spent the morning pacing. Stacy's quick thinking had kept him from the brig, but General Sloane was not a man who gave up easily. Chris had no doubt that the man had already reached out to the local government to secure permission to extradite him or, at the very least, TEKKER. They would be back. He knew that for a fact.

Crystal was lying in the nearby bed, pretending to be asleep. Truthfully, she hadn't slept much lately. She was too worried about what General Sloane would do to Chris. Perhaps it would be better for them to leave and go into hiding. She knew a few places where they could go, and her own people would be able to help. It wasn't the greatest plan, but right now it was all they had.

Jake stood guard by the front door of the Inn. He had been there since shortly after the general left yesterday. Chris was his best friend and, right now, he needed all the help he could get. Jake would do what he could. Sitting by the window, he could see for a mile. If anybody came close to the Inn, he could give Chris at least a few minutes warning.

Stacy sat at the bar, nursing a drink. She had managed to hold them off, but for how long? More importantly, why was Cameron there? She knew that he had contracts with the military, but was he involved with the TEK project. Every time she recalled Cameron and Chris being in the same room together, Cameron acted like he barely knew Chris. What other secrets might he be keeping, then?

Nate emerged from the kitchen with a tray overloaded with various foods. He knew that just about everybody was tense so, maybe, some nourishment might help put their minds at ease. He was no fighter like most of the Inn's inhabitants, but he was a good chef. If he could do anything to help his friends, it was make sure that their stomachs were full and they had plenty of energy.

"Isn't it a little early for you to be lost in thought at the bar?" Tyler asked, sliding into the seat next to her. He knew, obviously, what was going on...she was worried about Chris. Everyone was...but that didn't mean he couldn't listen to her.

Azana walked downstairs, glancing over to the door as she noticed a simple envelope on the table nearest the exit. With an audible gulp, she walked toward it, knowing exactly what it was...her exam schedule.

Star goes in her room and closes the door to change. She takes a glance at the mirror nearby. All the bruises and scratches she got from her and Charlotte fighting Protoman yesterday were noticeable more now."Tch....that idiot.Looking for fights.".Star sits down and bandages herself. She noticed some dry blood in a few areas, and guesses she was bleeding a little bit."Better not shower for now..or else I might bleed again." she muttered to herself mad and annoyed.

"I keep replaying yesterday's events in my mind and, no matter what I do, I keep coming back to one thought. What was Cameron doing here? Was he involved with General Sloane? Did he have connections to the TEK project?" She let out a long sigh and continued, "Every instinct I have is telling me he's hiding something. I just wish I knew what it was."

Azana picked up the envelope, looking it over with a grimace, especially the GMO insignia on the front. It was hers, alright, and for some reason, she really didn't want to read what was inside it. It wasn't that she wasn't curious about it (she had been waiting for a week), but depending on who they got to schedule the exams, this could be relatively easy or a total marathon.

"Haven't opened it yet?" Sosol asked, popping up behind her shoulder and causing her to jump slightly. While they shared an incredible connection with each other, that also gave them the unique ability to blindside one another with little effort.

"No, I haven't," she answered, giving a playful pout back at him. "I was waiting on you."

"You're lying," Sosol retorted with a grin. "You should know better."

Azana sighed, walking over to a table and taking a seat. "I know, I know...just nervous about the schedule."

Tyler leaned out from his seat, taking a short moment from Stacy. "You've been speculating for two weeks or so about the exams. Just open the thing, already." He turned back to his girlfriend, offering an understanding nod. She was having her doubts already; whether it was her cop instincts or her psychic ones, she was getting much warmer. Of course, this led to the question of whether or not to break it to her.

No...that's Chris' news, he decided quickly. "I wish I knew, Stacy...though, if there's one thing I've learned about you, your instinct is almost always right."

The look on Stacy's faced changed from confused to determined. "You're right. I'm going to track him down and get some answers, even if I have to rip them out of his brain." She stood up to leave, her hand reaching for her gun...

...but was interrupted by Jake. "It's going to have to wait, Stace. We've got company. Looks like Sloane's car and it's roughly two minutes off. I'm going to warn the boss. You stay down here and hold them off." He quickly rushed upstairs and knocked on Chris's door.

Chris and Crystal began to move quickly, knowing that they only had minutes at best.

"Back already...?" Tyler muttered to himself, his eyes narrowed slightly. That took a lot less time than he figured it would; this group was serious about getting their hands on Chris and Tekker. He wasn't sure how well his replica would do in misleading them, but it was all they had at the time.

Azana shoved the envelope in her pocket, taking a position near Stacy. She held a place of authority in the Inn, and without the Innkeepers around, she and Sosol had to address this.

Don't get yourself in too much trouble, he reminded her, reluctantly readying himself to enforce the Neutral Ground of the Inn. You can't take your exams if Stella's having to bail you out.

Jake took a position at the top of the stairs, ready to cover Chris's escape, until he felt his friend's hand on his shoulder.

"Stand down, Jake. I'm not afraid to face them."

"But, boss.."

"No buts, pal. Plans are already in place. In the meantime, I'm counting on you to keep the others in line." He stepped down into the main room and waited for Sloane.

Azana glanced back at the sound of Chris' voice and nodded. "Just chatting, then?" She asked, grinning to Sosol as he gratefully backed down. "I can do that...hope you know what you're doing, though."

"Have you ever known him not to?" Tyler asked, putting on his poker face again. If anyone let on that they were up to something, it wouldn't end well.

"Once," she muttered under her breath, eying Tekker with a somewhat angry glare. If she saw that mode activate again, at all, she'd give him a shock he wouldn't forget.

Chris went to stand in front of the door just as it opened and General Sloane came in. "Roberts, I would have thought you'd run by now."

"Now why would I do that, General?"

"I have my orders, Roberts. You are to turn over the device to me immediately. I have permission from the local government to take it and you into my custody."

"Very well, General. If that's what you have to do, then I will do what I have to do." He wanted nothing more than to fight them off, but the neutrality order had his hands tied. At least he knew that TEKKER and Excalibur were safe. He unstrapped Tyler's decoy from his wrist and handed it over. Then, a pair of MPs placed him in handcuffs and led him towards the door.

Crystal came running down the stairs and shouted "Wait!" She tore Chris free from the soldiers and pulled him close. She then held up a small device and pressed a button. In a brilliant flash of light, the couple vanished.
