Gren laughed quietly. "Nobody bothers a guy who can make them forget, even for a little while, about their problems." He wrapped an arm around his husband's shoulder affectionately. "And if I went down, there were a dozen who'd go down with me, believe me."

Gren murmured his gratitude, eyes narrow with affection. It was easy to live on the run if what you were fleeing was worse. He kissed MacPere's cheek, soft and tender. "It's not so bad."
