Hearing a large series of explosions and rumbles in the distance, Gren sat up, getting into firing position with military precision. No flashbacks tonight; he felt no threat, but the thrill of a hunt. "Heh...just try to get in."

"It won't come to that," Tyler said resolutely. "Stella's amping up the defense just because Omega's a slimy b*****d who wouldn't be above trying to raze this place to the ground." He continued to watch the feed before pulling off his glasses and rubbing at the bridge of his nose.
"In the nearly impossible situation that this all fails, then yes, it's up to us."
The key wavered slightly with Stella's name, but it steadied once more, the starry-eyed mage continuing her mantric repetition of the astrological cycle. If she stopped, if she allowed herself to hear those explosions outside, she'd start to worry again...

"I see." said Charlotte. "Well, then there's simply no choice. If it comes to that, I'll help as well. I rather like this place!"
She smiled an innocent smile, patting his shoulder. "There's no way at all we could lose!"

Charlotte waved her hand calmly. "It's a volunteer army, fella. I don't expect much out of anyone. That way, when they do something, it's a surprise!"
The wind picked up, tousling Gren's stray bangs a bit. He glared at the sky. That wouldn't be helpful, but if he could manage a sandstorm, a thunderstorm would be fine. "Azana must be getting ready..." he murmured, cocking his rifle.

"It does grow on you," Tyler agreed before scowling at D. Shoving that irksome charisma effect aside, the genius glared for a moment before turning back to the screen. "And I'm sure that he'll blow right on by knowing the person who blew his cover is incapacitated upstairs," he said bitterly before Max's voice popped into his headset.
"Looks like I'm up to bat..." He said out of nowhere, a malevolent smile on his face as he brought up his traps as well as a video feed from the outer edge of the forest. It was only fair to give these soldiers fair warning...and a chance to run while they could.
Stella's eyes shot open as the key dropped to the ground. "Your turn...? Az, is she--"
"Just fine...they've got a third of the force pissed at them, though. She's probably having a ball."
Stella nodded, feeling much more clear and focused than before despite her worries. They'd be fine...she had to be ready, though if she found out anything happened to her cousin...
Only Azana had seen her truly let loose. It was an awesome sight...unless you were on the receiving end.

Charlotte wasn't always certain what Tyler was talking about, but there was no doubt that she liked anyone smiling like that over traps. 'In fact, I think I like everyone here..!' she grinned to herself, trotting over to a window to watch the lightning build.
'A fight would certainly be a good way to siphon...everyone's ready to cut loose, and me too!'

Stella stood from her position, careful not to smudge her sigils as she joined Charlotte at the window. Before her eyes, one of the largest bolts of lightning she had seen in months struck in the distance.
"She's really going all out..."

Stella shook her head. "I don't blame her...it's just, even with all the back-up, she's attacking like it's all on her. She better not forget her secondary mission..."
To Charlotte's question, she blinked, glancing back at the circle before chuckling lightly. "That was just to steady my nerves. I'm not casting anything until Hunter's done."

D was silent, his thoughts shielded, and his aura maintained a constant feel of 'business.' A somewhat dark chuckle came from his left hand, but it was the only noise. D knew that there would be consequences to his actions. But in the end, it was for Angeles' own good.
((I've got to get to bed, but it seems the fight will get to the inn tomorrow. Remember to take it out of this thread when that happens.))

Stella nodded with a grin. "I love him for it," she added before her attention was directed to the circle on the floor.
"Those were preparations...there's a latent Sanctuary spell around the Inn. I'm going to amplify and bend it so that it only works one way."
Tyler chuckled as he watched a few of the soldiers turn tail. "And the sad part is, those are the smart ones..." He said to no one in particular, stretching before settling his hands on the keyboard. Each key triggered something, and he fully planned on using them all.
