"Hm," Angeles put the spoon back into her moth and licked it clean before putting it in the sink.

"And how do you suggest we do that?" Max asked with a playful wink.

Azana rolled her eyes at the two but smiled all the same. "I'm sure we'll piece it all together somehow," she reassured them before giving them some space, biding her time until the cookies were ready.

"Sorry, I didn't realize you hadn't heard," Sosol said, pouring out glasses for everyone. "Skuld's birthday is tomorrow...she's turning eighteen, so we thought we'd make it special for her."

Remy grinned. "Right. Make our own."

Gren pulled out the cookies, scooping them onto a cooling tray. "All done..."

(Going home to make dinner...bye, guys!)

"You might want to wait a moment," Sosol warned the two of them, two glasses of milk landing on the counter nearby. "They taste good fresh out of the oven, but they tend to fall apart easier." Angeles seemed to be adjusting alright in spite of everything...though for all he knew, she could have simply been putting up the facade.

"Hmmm..." Max smiled slyly, folding her arms in thought. "We could."

Sosol shook his head. "Not since yesterday. When that psychopath started talking about Omega, he set up a constant watch back at his place...I wonder if he's even slept, poor guy." The bartender lightly touched one of the cookies, testing its consistency before picking it up, offering it to Angeles.

"I don't blame him, though...we put a lot of effort into that. To have it unravel so quickly would be a bit of an insult."

"They done yet?" Azana asked, her stomach growling lightly.

"Yeah...I'll bring a couple out for you!" He answered, reaching into the cupboard for a plate.

Sosol couldn't help but grin at Angeles' reaction. Seeing her smile this much was a blessing, but the question still remained...was she truly happier this way? A plate with a trio of cookies and a glass of milk hovered its way out of the kitchen.

"Thanks!" Azana called, taking hold of both and finding herself a table.

"Angeles...I know that this must be a big adjustment for you," he said after a moment of silence, plucking a cookie from the cooling rack for himself. "You might not want it after last time, but I'm still willing to help you with this, whatever you decide to do." He took a bite of the cookie, leaning against the counter and watching Emily heartily enjoy her treat.

Kid's going to be spoiled rotten at this rate.

((This is my last for a bit. Battery is dying, and I really need to go home from school.))

Sosol nodded to her signal. Understood. I'll let Chris know the next time I see him, he replied, picking up another cookie and glancing toward the main room, where Azana was happily dipping her third cookie into the half-drained glass of milk.

Don't eat too many of them, he warned, or you'll regret it later. With a chuckle, he left the kitchen, hoping to get a moment with his wife before she dashed off again.

Angeles watched Sosol leave and handed Emily another cookie, which the child was grateful for. Angeles set the child down, who snatched up several more cookies and ran out to where D was sitting. She climbed up into the chair across from him and offered him one.

"Here uncle D!" she said happily and D took the cookie and nibbled on it as Emily dropped the rest on the table. She turned as the man began to sing and clapped her hands happily as Angeles went upstairs with a glass of milk. She liked milk and cookies.
