Gren gulped at the exchange. "As majority shareholder...hm..." He thought for a moment. "I bet he'd sell the company for cheap right now...buy it back, perhaps, fix the major problems, maybe...something might be doable."

Gren smiled. That was a solution. "Transfer them to my name. If the company really can't be salvaged, make those stocks mine. If I get caught in the windfall, I can take the monetary hit, since I personally have squat, your funds stay safe, the company can be bought back, and all can be fixed, your return triumphant."

Stella had listened to the exchanges, flinching slightly at Eli's harsh dismissal of the reploid. As Gren spoke about the shares, equal rights...his solution seemed to be a temporary fix, but the monetary hit would drag him into bankruptcy. All his financial history would have to be scrutinized...documents he didn't have. Tyler had given him a slew of falsified information, but she was pretty sure he didn't go into that deep of detail, assuming he wouldn't get in this kind of trouble.
"There has to be another way, Gren...what if you had help, Eli? A few people with the brains to make changes alongside you?" Of course, some people wouldn't be happy with what she was suggesting, but this was an emergency...

Gren shook his head, affording a small, gentle smile. "I didn't marry you for an easy life... now, c'mon...there's always hope in hard work." He held out a handkerchief, wiping his husband's nose, helping him up into a hug.

Stella had sat in silence since her idea was rejected, simply there as comfort at that point until Gren helped him up into an embrace. The mage stood up herself, glancing down at the drying tears on her blouse; it was rare in a life like hers to feel completely powerless...yet there she was.
"Mira Chara...Dreamer's Delight," she whispered, disguising the flick of her wand as she pulled her hair back up into its bun, skewering it with the two hidden weapons. He wasn't asleep yet, but it would activate whenever he did. With a silent nod of gratitude to Gren, she walked for the door...
