"That's the thing," he said, stopping at the top of the stairs. "She isn't locked there...she could leave whenever she wants. She just...doesn't. She didn't even come to the wedding..."
Azana made her way up the stairs, her face lighting up as she spied her husband at the top. "There you are! I wondered where you vanished to..."

Remy tilted his head slightly. "That doesn't make a person less lonely, though...that is some major social anxiety there. Unless, you know, she's just being a snob."
At Azana's appearance, he waved slightly, letting her have a moment.

Azana ran up the stairs, meeting her husband at the top with a rather passionate kiss. "Hasn't been too hectic here today, has it?"
Sosol grimaced, rolling his eyes. "Just the usual mayhem," he answered. "I'll fill you in on it after your tests tomorrow."
"If you're talking about Eli, I already know," Azana said with a frown, revealing that some of the ash was still stuck to her hand. "Can you give him my regards?"
"Um, sure," Sosol answered with a grin. Eli? He asked Remy, having missed that whole episode in caring for Alex...
"Well, you're busy with Remy, but don't be too long, alright?" Azana asked with a wink before sliding past and making her way to their room. She was serious about that; she was wiped out, but she wanted some time with him before she gave up to sleep...

Remy nibbled his lip for a moment, the fang's cut healing immediately. "His, um...successor, in the business. He failed, big time, and the whole thing's about to go under. The man was crushed...spent the day getting consoled by Stella and Gren, before he got taken up to their place, presumably for tea and a nap." It couldn't have been much else; he could tell.

"Oh...oh, wow," Sosol said, blinking in surprise. "That's...I don't even know what to say..." He shook his head, leaning against the wall. Skuld, exhausted and trying to say something about Sibyl and Delphi...Azana, facing down her two toughest exams tomorrow...Eli, watching his business fall apart...Stella spending her entire day here with the loving couple...
"I think...I need some time to sort this out," he said at last, somewhat haunted as he made his way to the room he shared with his wife. So much at once...couldn't it simply be one at a time?
"Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew..." Max muttered, walking in the door and pulling off the heels almost immediately. She shuddered, her face wrinkling in disgust at the whole affair. "I need a shower..."

Remy waved. "Sleep well when you get to it..." Hearing the voice and entry, Remy materialized nearby Max, practicing his new skills. "Wow...what happened? You okay?"

Having woken himself many hours earlier than usual, MacPere had gotten many tasks done in time he'd been up. Transferred his shares to Gren's account and gathered the papers for his spouse to sign; called around his client with vigourous apologies and taken back command of the comapny from the buffoon he'd sold it to. Never would he trust something so precious in another's hands.
"Hello, Giovanni?" He cooed into the headset on one ear, frantically working at papers and spreadsheets, armed with a mug of his coffee. He would use it when the moment called. "Yes, thank you for the car in Milan... I hope it's scratchless. I'm sorry to call on you at such a time, but there is something I need from one of your... 'contacts'. I'll do whatever is required, you know that."

Sosol could hardly sleep last night...though neither could Azana, as he could tell. She had left early in the morning during one of those moments where he was somewhere between sleeping and waking...the note promised a call sometime in the afternoon concerning her wand results.
He had been cleaning up around the main room, partially because it needed it and partially to give him time to think. So much was happening at once, he could hardly keep track of it all. Not even his second job provided the calm stability it used to...
Skuld's eyes shot awake, and she sat up, looking around frantically. Yes, she was in the Inn...the night before wasn't simply a dream, no matter how much she wanted to wish the whole thing was just a nightmare. She hugged her knees to her chest, tears forming in her eyes again as it all began to sink in again.
Max sighed, having spent some time the night before sending out messages into her network. The cogs were turning in her head...she got Remy the show, but only because there was money involved, not because of shifting the man's opinion about vampires. There had to be some way...the message had to get through to him.

Sosol sighed, leaning on the bar and looking out into the empty main room. Absolutely no one today...he blamed the weather, the overcast skies that promised rain but as yet failed to deliver. Pushing himself back to standing, he headed back for the kitchen...Skuld would likely be hungry when she woke.
Skuld looked at herself in the mirror, dabbing away the tears and puffiness with a cool washcloth. It was one of the handier tricks she had learned from Stella, as odd as it would seem considering the classes and training she had worked so hard on. She couldn't undo the past or change the older Oracle's mind...but Sibyl's own isolationism prevented her from doing much but seeing and speaking.
The problem was, what she could see and say was dangerous in the wrong hands.
Max had been spreading the word about her boyfriend's showing, telling her friends to tell everyone. She had even found some information on that "Egry" character...she'd probably have to pay him a visit next. Of course, that still left her with a substantial sum of money to obtain. Fundraising would take too long...she needed a benefactor.
MacPere, maybe? No...he already did a lot of that. Stella? Too stressed out with her own problems. Most of her contacts were not of enough money to simply hand her what she needed...an idea popped up in the back of her mind, but it was far from pleasant.
She knew another wealthy woman...and she knew where to get in contact with her.

Gren hummed his pleasure, strolling into the main room while toting a massive bouquet of roses. "Hello, Sosol..." he said, as the man in question drifted into the kitchen. Despite the previous day, Gren was in a warm mood.
Remy painted an odd piece on his computer, lazily dragging the stylus across the tablet. "I wonder how she got me that show...Ixion, no, Donald, he's only after a few things in life..."

"Hey, Gren," Sosol said, peeking back out of the kitchen. "I'm guessing the roses are for Eli?"
Max tapped a pen against her lower lip, brainstorming some ideas about how to rattle Ixion's cage concerning the vampires of Gaia...invite a whole bunch, maybe...but there had to be more. She wanted the message to be screamed, not whispered.
