Sosol grinned after Gren, heading back into the kitchen. What was Skuld's favorite again...?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After spending a good portion of the afternoon holed up in her room, Skuld came downstairs cautiously, a bit alarmed to see absolutely no one around. It definitely wasn't another surprise party...
Her fears were put to rest with a familiar smell wafting from the kitchen. Her eyes lit up, and she headed back to check on it.
Sosol chuckled as he saw Skuld's head pop into the room. "I thought this would get you in a better mood."
"You're too nice, Brother," she replied with a smile, hugging him as he held the piping hot dish above her head. "Should I fetch utensils and stuff?"
"That'd be a--" He stopped, rolling his eyes at his phone. Of course she'd call now...

A smile found his lips, arms wrapping around Gren's shoulders in bliss. "I suppose work could be put off for today..."

Gren fluttered his eyelashes for a moment. "If that's what you'd wish..." he said sweetly. "Of course, there's the old working arrangement, should I find your desk tall enough..."
(And with that charming image, I regret to mention that I'm off for an evening performance of Chicago. Love to you all. heart Ta-ta! )

Sosol set the dish to a hover, digging the phone out of his pocket as he made his way out of the kitchen. He had to set dinner down quickly or risk dropping it.
"You have some timing, Az..."
"You knew it was me?" The voice said with a chuckle from the other end. "I guess you don't get too many calls...are you busy?"
"Carrying dinner...give me a second," he replied, setting it down on one of the tables, grinning at the carving. "There. So, how'd it go?" "You ready for this...?" "Would I ask otherwise?" "Good point. Okay...I got a five." "A five?! Are you sure?" "They just posted them!" "That's fantastic!" Sosol answered, looking over to Skuld with a smile as she emerged. "I'll spread the word. Good luck on that FAST tonight." "Thanks...I think I'm, what, seventh in line?" The voice went silent for a moment, mumbling something. "Yeah. Seventh." "I wish they allowed spectators...I'll be cheering you on, regardless." "Means a lot, Sol. See ya tonight!"
"A five...?" Skuld asked, quirking an eyebrow. "Wasn't she on Wands this morning?" "Exactly...she went up by one in the past couple years." "I'm betting most of it was from coming here...she's had a lot of practice." Skuld grinned, setting the table for two. "I've heard the FAST is especially tough this year, considering the Cult Clash and all. Jack's been getting worse." "That may be, but Az has gotten tougher, too. I'm more worried about when I have to take it..." He chuckled, taking a seat. "I hope I made it right...the recipe was a little confusing."

Alex grunted up the stairs. D was gone, Sosol was busy, she flipped open her cell phone and hit speeddail number seven. She rolled her neck on her shoulders before putting the phone to her ear.
"Moshi moshi, Alexu desu," Alex sighed, "alright Yuffie, have it your way, I'll speak English. Hey, listen, do you have any more materia to spare? Yeah, I know, but there's this place I'm staying at that could use a few cure and barrier spells."
Alex leaned back against a table, expression bored, the patch on her neck slowly turning red as she had reopened the wound, "I appreciate it Yuffie. I know it's a bit out of the way for Cloud. You could send Vincent. Yeah I'm sure he's 'busy.'"
She closed her eyes as the ninja spoke on the other end, finally interrupting her, "Yuffie, as long as they get here, soon, I will be very grateful. Yeah, thanks."
She flipped the phone closed and leaned away from the table, turning and making her way upstairs to her room, murmuring to Sosol only, "expect a visit," before vanishing upstairs.

Sosol hummed in thought...Alex had told him the previous evening to expect a visit. Who and why remained a mystery, as he was too busy talking with Skuld to pay attention to her conversation. What he found out from his sister didn't bode well, either...yet, strangely, it wasn't entirely surprising. Sibyl was the oldest, had been there the longest, and, while he didn't realize it until afterward, Charles' favorite.
I never thought she'd actually try something like that, though, he thought, staring absently at the window. She was always steadfast about neutrality, about isolation...

Alex came down the stairs and looked over at Sosol before moving towards him, "you look disturbed," she said flatly, taking up a place next to him and looking out the window as well, "what's up?"

"You're getting a bit too good at that," Sosol said with a grin, glancing over to the redhead. "It's just a bit of family drama...nothing big." He looked over her flat expression and shook his head. "It's just...that added to everything else..."
"I am a genius!" Max exclaimed as she typed frantically to her network. Why hadn't she thought of it before? It seemed so simplistic, yet it would flip Ixion's lid like nothing else! She just had to get everyone on board...

Alex looked over at him with a small hum before looking out the window again, "yeah. Everything that happens merely adds to what has happened, or is happening. That's just how life works," she shrugged slightly, "all we can do is take it as it comes, and prepare for what comes next."
She closed her eyes briefly before looking at Sosol, "which reminds me, has anyone come by yet?"

Giving a clearly exasperated sigh, MacPere strolled downstairs, looking around the room. "Max! There you are..." he breathed, stepping forward with paper in hand. "You wouldn't happen to have a photocopier, would you?"

"I've noticed..." Sosol answered Alex. "I guess I just wish it didn't happen all at once...it's a lot to take in."
Max looked over to MacPere with an amused smile. "You're asking me...if I have a photocopier. You must be frazzled; c'mon...I've got one-a those all-purpose thingies in my room."

"When it rains it pours," Alex said flatly, looking back out the window. Whoever Yuffie was sending, even if it was herself, had apparently not arrived yet, "bring an umbrella. I have a bad feeling about something," she narrowed her eyes, "where's everybody?"

Lee appeared from a blast of smoke, at the door to the Inn and repeatedly rung the door bell over 50 times, stoill holding the bottle of smirnoff.

"I'm not sure," Sosol answered. "I think Stella and James are still working the exam schedules...Gren's likely at work, if I had to wager. Azana...well, she didn't come home last night, so I'm guessing she stayed over at--"
He glanced to the door as the bell rang over, and over, and over. "We're coming already!" He called, looking to Alex. "Is that your visitor?"
"Well," Max said with a chuckle, opening the door and holding it for MacPere. "Why wouldn't I have a copier? Fliers are old-school, but they get the job done just as well, right?"
