You can do that there or here or both or whatever you feel like doing. biggrin I keep saying that I need to record myself singing an aria or something and post it. I always went for the operatic pieces in foreign languages when I was taking voice lessons in college. You know that Epcot sings too, and has some links up. I just think it's cool getting to learn more about people and getting to see their talents. heart

So guys, it looks like I'm being forced into a nuclear power debate for school today. I have about 2 hours to get all my gear together and ready to leave... 11 pages of notes to sort through... Why am I wasting my time here, might you ask?

I 'unno. My snowman face makes me giggle, and I need something to listen to. And musicians, hm? Lots of strangers I don't pay attention. xD

Greatest turn of events ever:

Professors have been telling me and my partner that they don't wanna overlook projects dealing with destructive forces [we're planning on working with electric weapons -- i.e. tasers]. We end up talking to a professor who doesn't have a really good impression on me and it turns out he's willing to work with us. The department chair overheard us and joined in on the conversation adding that we should totally pursue our interest and contact Taser co. and that he'd go and see if he can have them do a little info session.

Awesome stuff... and here I thought we weren't allowed to work with weaponry. Woot!

That's great ED! xd I'm actually kind of jealous. I would much rather be doing that than my current job. I mean, I'm glad that I have a source of income, but my job is not exactly fun. I have two supervisors. One is the female version of the supervisor from Office Space. She literally says, "If you could.... that would be great" about twenty times a day. @_@ But, she's a really nice person, and I like her. I kind of laugh whenever she does that line. She even has the voice inflections and all. rofl My other supervisor doesn't like me, and she doesn't even try to hide it. Today, she was praising all of the temps for doing a great job. She named every single temp except for me, even though I was right next to her. If it hadn't been for other things, I wouldn't have taken this so personally. She's always yelling at me for something or other. For example, as part of my job, I'm supposed to check the Christmas cards for errors before boxing them. I found a capitalization error in one set of cards, and I sent it in for a re-do like I was supposed to. She pulled me aside, handed me a box, and told me to get to work on it. I saw immediately that they were the re-dos I had requested. She started reading the notes I put on the form I filled out, and then told me to send the cards without envelopes because they had already been sent. I told her that I didn't remember sending the envelopes, and she got mad and told me to just pack and send the cards. When I was checking the cards, I noticed that one error was corrected, but the other error was still there. So, I asked her if I should do another re-do, and she got mad and told me that I should. So, the next day she came up to me, held out the re-do sheet, and asked me if that was my name on it. I said it was. She forcefully handed me my re-dos, and told me not to scare her like that. Then, she complained about how I didn't write my name on my re-do sheet, and I pointed to where I neatly wrote my name where it said, "Name." I also pointed out that it was my handwriting (to point out that I had indeed written my name). And, she responded by saying that she can't be expected to recognize everyone's handwriting. gonk I just can't win with this lady! She's forever making my work day a living hell. I'm glad that I only have four more weeks left in this job, because I didn't go to college for six years, make the dean's list and president's list just about every semester, bust my butt for those "A's" in my upper level English classes, and finally graduate Magna c** Laude to be told by some ignoramus that I didn't write my name where I clearly wrote it from the beginning. stressed

Sounds like she doesn't like you because you don't take her crap...or she is hormonal...either way, it is only for a short period of time. smile

I think there are two reasons why she doesn't like me:

1) I'm not the fastest packer in the office. When I was hired, I was told to only do Christmas cards. Well, most Christmas card orders have between 250-400 cards plus stickers in each order. They take longer than orders of 50 party invitations or 100 baby announcements. I work quickly, and I often find cards with defects (like ink blotches or white spots) and I remove them. If I went any slower, I wouldn't catch them. I suspect that she doesn't like the fact that I'm meticulous about my work, and don't go ahead and pack all of them straight (even though the big boss wants us to perform quality control).

2) I catch too many errors that the proof-reader should have caught, so I have to keep ordering re-dos, thus slowing down the process. Just for the record, I applied for the proof-reading job, but I didn't get it.

3) I don't think she likes my personality. This is nothing new to me. Some people find me weird and slightly obnoxious, and most people either love me or hate me.

The weird thing is that I obediently take her crap. I think it's a good idea to humor your boss if you want to avoid confrontation. But, like you said, it's only for four more weeks.

Anything improved at work Chibi, is has it been the same? Have you started looking for another job yet?

I haven't really been looking too hard in the past three weeks. I've been too tired out at the end of the day. I've been doing better in my work. I've figured out a few tricks to speed up the process, so I'm coming closer to meeting my quota now. That's also improving the relationship with my supervisors. I think they would still prefer for me to work faster, but I don't want to sacrifice quality for speed, so I'm trying to keep a balance. I keep imagining the people who get the cards, and I imagine how they would react if they got poor quality Christmas cards that they paid a couple hundred dollars for. I still have three more weeks of work. I did the math, and figured up that I will be able to pay my student loans for three or four months. So, that gives me a bit of a buffer to work with when looking for a job. I'm planning on applying for minimum wage jobs while I look for a real job. I remember how long it took me to just find this temp job, so I need to keep the money coming while I search. I really don't want to have to get a deferment.

I've been a little too happy with my paycheck. I bought a DS because I've been wanting one for years. rofl I also bought a ticket to go see Trans Siberian Orchestra. I also bought a couple CDs and players guides off of Amazon. It almost feels like Christmas has come early. But, my friends and family should not get upset about these purchases. The stuff I ordered online, no one I know would know enough about to find and order. So, I'm going to ask for DS games for Christmas, namely Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. whee

Sorry if this guild is getting kind of slow. I don't really have much time to devote to it right now with this job, but all of that will be different after Christmas. But, rest assured that I will somehow put together a full blown Christmas party for this guild. biggrin

That's okay. The Christmas party will be fun! heart
I've been sick (I guess it's a sinus infection) since Tuesday night, so I haven't been logging on much this week.
