"I dunno...hot potato...maybe even four-square!" Max said, checking the ball's size and consistency. "Heck, if the half-pint doesn't want it, I'll take it!"
"Either way, I think my break's over...I'd like to get this little project out of the way," he said, giving a nod over to his table.
"That is kind of important, isn't it?" Sosol agreed. He glanced to the stairs with a frown, surprised Kristen hadn't come downstairs with all their commotion.

"Man, it's been too long since I've played a round...I'm not even sure I can remember all the rules involved." Azana smiled. "I'd be happy to join in sometime...if they won't let us play in here, I know somewhere nearby."
"Well, according to our local 'expert'," Tyler said as he walked, complete with air quotes, "they are coalesced and crystallized spirits and memories. What exactly that entails, I have no idea...what I'm building just differentiates them."

"I wouldn't call these 'naturally occurring'," Tyler said, taking his seat and looking over the parts. "Most crystals we think of are made of chemical elements and hold to a certain set of rules...these, made out of completely different components, may operate under a different set of rules than we're used to. Don't even get me started on the fact that they are from a different world than our own..."
"I'm positive! I'll just have to look them up at some point," Azana answered. "Besides, I remember it was a great workout."
"Well, that's three...gotta get at least four," Max said, humming in thought as she looked everyone over.
"Don't even think about it...it's too tempting to cheat," Sosol said with a grin. "Kristen might be up for it, if she ever comes out of her room..."

Gren raised his eyebrows. "Maybe we could ask someone else?"
"I know the answer~" cheered Charlotte, bouncing down the stairs. "Like forcing coal to compress, you can make Materia yourself my compressing mako! Natural materia's huge and wobbly, synthetic is round, unless it's really special."
"So, the materia in the box was..."
"Yup! All man-made, out of the natural materials."
Gren frowned. "So, someone trying to make materia out of this planet's energy is not that big a deal?"
"Right! Let's play four-square!"
"Play what?"

"Tell that to our new friends," Tyler muttered, pulling out a soldering iron. "They're the ones freaking out about those Gaia materia...I find these rudimentary attempts fascinating, personally."
"Four-square, Gren...don't tell me ya never heard of it!" Max said with a pout.

Looking to Max, he gave a sheepish look. "It's...it's been years, Max. I'll need a run-through."

Tyler gave a shrug of his own in return. "I don't usually get too philosophical about the afterlife. Too much speculation and heated arguments." Still, Gren's ethical concern had crossed his mind at one point...probably the best person to ask, aside from Yuffie, would be Sosol. Hadn't he mentioned seeing things from his?
"Umm...think four-way ping pong with crazy house rules and hierarchy?" Max said, trying to sum it up as quickly as she could. "We're gonna need space, though..."

Angeles grinned and held the ball away from all of them, "I want to keep it for a bit," she said playfully before someone came through the door. Angeles tossed it at the person entering.
D caught it easily, giving Angeles a look before looking down at the ball.
"Who is your father?" asked Angeles with a grin, pointing at him.
D blinked, glanced at her then sighed, "Dracula," he said simply before looking over and tossing it at Alex. The redhead caught it and cocked an eyebrow.
"Who's your father?" asked the hunter as he began to make his way to the stairs.
"You are," replied the woman without hesitation causing D to pause and look at her with something like confusion in his eyes. Alex then tossed the ball to the people waiting to play four square.
The parasite suddenly burst into laughter, "she's a quick one," he said through his chuckles.

"Well, that was interesting," Sosol muttered, already back at his usual station. He doubted that Alex was being honest, though he could never really be sure without being nosy. That girl had a really good poker face.
Max caught the ball, squeezing it a little before testing its bounciness. "Oh, this is gonna be goooood..." She said slyly before looking to the others, especially Azana.
"Well, playing in here may be difficult...but I know some space out on the Plains where I could mark some squares for us," she said, folding her arms. "It isn't too far from the dojo I used to use."
"Used to?" Tyler asked, looking up from his work.
"I still do...just not as often."
