Antha just shrugged, that vague, wicked grin lingering on her lips. "Just remember when it all comes crashing down upon you, whether it be a day or a decade from now, that I gave you the option of running." With that she stood again and left the room, crossing to the little room beside the stairs where all of her pictures were kept. From here she retrieved a book with the simple label of 'Mayfair' on the cover and returned to the parlor as if she had never left to begin with. She paused only briefly before explaining, setting the book down in her lap as her eyes turned to gaze upon the other boy. "By all means, Kain, have a seat." She flashed him one small smile, something between amusement and a cruel playfulness behind that little gesture. He hadn't told her his name, and she hoped that he realized that. In a movement like flipping a switch, Antha's attention was all placed upon Felix again, handing the book to him. "A collection of Mayfair pictures, or in some cases, pictures of paintings. The first one is Deborah, who was the first witch of our blood. She is the only known witch besides me to ever carry the three marks of the witch." She raised her hand for a moment or two, letting the faint scar on the side of her hand show in the dusty streamers of light from the windows. When she was an infant, it had been a sixth finger, the third mark, but her father had been very quick to chop it off. "Every drop of blood in our family comes from Deborah, as well as the Legacy." Again she paused, this time waiting for him to look through the book of pictures and for Kain to sit down. The second thought amused her greatly, because the only place left to sit was beside her and she could feel the first traces of fear, unease, in the air like ribbons wrapping around him, coating him. It sent an excited tremor through the umbra and brought a strange gleam to Antha's eyes, that wicked little grin to her lips.

"The scar is from where my sixth finger was cut off as an infant." She looked at that small sliver of a scar for a moment, her expressing showing resentment for a brief moment, before suddenly she went to Felix, leaning over him. "Red hair," she said softly, running a few fingers through his hair and down to his cheek, tracing a line around the edge of his eye, "Green eyes, and a sixth finger." With that, she returned to her seat, looking somewhat pleased with herself. "You have no idea how correct you are about our history being deep. It is not quantity, per se, but rather quality. People---human, witch, vampire, and lycan alike---know our name well in this city, and the things we have tied to that name. Money, power, secrecy, blood." One moment passed in silence, her eyes focusing more directly upon him, more intensely. "And of course our recurring method of strengthening the witch blood---incest." She said the last word heavily, putting a thick emphasis upon it. After all, the Mayfair family was nothing without incest.

"Does it not bother you?" she asked simply, her voice a brush of a whisper as she stood and went to lean over him, touching her fingers to his cheek. "It is an unwritten law within our family. Cousin and cousin, parent and child, brother and sister." It was the last one that she lingered on, putting a strange emphasis upon the words that matched the gleam in her eyes. "With our blood," she said simply, angling his face up as she drew closer, only an inch or so but it was enough, "Everyone is fair game." She withdrew from him abruptly, turning to Kain, drawing closer to him. "Do you not believe in them?" The umbra gathered around her as she stalked forward, her power making them flicker into visible matter for split seconds at a time. Behind her, the fireplace rumbled faintly and the flames licked up over the blackened wood without a single spark to light it. Magic at it's finest---pyrokinesis. She leaned over Kain as she had Felix, slightly suggestive, taunting, but there was an edge of menace to it now, slight. "Do you not believe in witches and vampires, Kain?" She moved a fraction of an inch, almost imperceptible, but it was enough to throw the firelight over the little round marks on her neck as her fingertips caressed them, marks made by neat little fangs.

"Because it's the preferred coupling," she answered simply, though he hadn't said the words aloud. She moved back to him as she spoke, returning to her stance over him, her fingers brushing along his jaw again. "It is not as dangerous as parent and child, but it is very close blood nonetheless." Again she pried into his eyes with her own, something in them very suggestive, almost obscene. "I have two older brothers, you know. Twins. By law, they are my half-brothers, born of my mother and uncle Michael. In reality, we are of the very same blood. My mother bred with her younger brother, producing the three of us by him." Her eyes still watched him, too intense for words, too suggestive of a gaze to be normal. They were Antha's favorite tool. "They would have it no other way. My mother was Designee of the Legacy before me, and that blood must be kept very strong. For those reasons, when I was young they wished me to bear a child by my father. When it became clear that I would not, they urged me upon my older brothers. But Nicolae is immortal now---living dead---and I will never touch Malakai that way. That is why they have hopes for my half brothers, of which there are many." Her gaze narrowed in the small instance of silence, intensified to something positively frightful. "My brothers by Oncle Julien."

Antha smiled a new smile, something that promised she was pleased with him, and leaned over a touch more, pressing her cheek gently to his, whispering into his ear so that only he could hear her words, his hair stirring faintly with her breath. "Because my mother convinced Leon Marquis to marry her by telling him that she was pregnant with his child. She died giving birth to me, and Leon hated me that I was in truth no blood of his. I was Julien's, as were my brothers before me. He told them I was dead and he kept me in the attic of this house until I was nine years old. Julien knew the truth, but he did nothing about it. When my cousins discovered me and he could not deny it, he refused to save me from Leon because he threatened to tell the world who my real father was. He was so frightened of losing his spotless record, of one of his many incestuous flings being made undeniable, that he left me there to be tortured." She retreated then, just far back enough to look him in the eyes. "If my father hadn't died, he might never have bothered enough to save me." She touched one pale finger to his temple, as if she would run her fingers through his hair, and gave him that memory. Leon in his bed, the white linen sheets a swampy mess of blood, the kitchen knife still stuck in his chest. The memory of Michael running for the phone while she watched him, silent, and the way he had looked at her when he finally saw her, dropping the phone to the ground, eyes wide with panic, fear, the small, shocked scream that had issued from his lips and Julien running in to see what was amiss. She still remembered the look in his eyes vividly, the strange mix of fright and guilt, of knowing that it was all his fault and the realization that the look she gave him was pure hatred.

"It is many things, mon cher. And he has suffered greatly for them." Again she pressed her memories upon his mind, though admittedly, this time she was only testing him, seeing if she could indeed make him run. She showed him Julien clinging to the pristine white sheets of his bed, blood running down his bare flesh from the long welts in his bed. There were bite marks on his neck, in no way vampiric. They were perfect imprints of her teeth, messy, deep, filling the torn flesh to the brim with blood. She had slept with him because her family had pressured her to, because they wanted a child from her and Julien was the strongest male witch the family had ever produced. But she had made certain that not a moment of it had been pleasant for him, and it showed. "He doesn't like me trying to breed with his other children, you know. Every time I lay with one of my brothers, I can feel him mourn." She smiled again, coldly. "Tell me, Felix, would you not hate to know that you were bred of him?" The smile deepened, going wicked rather than cold. Suggestive, certainly. "To be my brother through his blood?"
