Mademoiselle Alvinette LilChibiusa Just remember if you are going to start bragging on Gaia again not to brag about being crew in this guild. Being guild crew really doesn't mean much considering that anyone can open a guild, and this one isn't even that big. If you want something to say to make you stand out, mention that you are staff in the 9th Annual Ball. That's something with some notoriety that people will recognize. 3nodding stare *is momentarily speechless* You actually think I'm that clueless? Um, bragging about it didn't even cross my mind. I was joking. Really, I thought you knew me better than that. neutral P.S. *hugs* I know you weren't trying to insult me. But I must admit, that bothered me a little bit. sweatdrop I was just referring how on a few past occasions at conventions you would be talking to someone about Gaia, pull me aside, and tell them that you were crew in a guild that I owned. It was kind of embarrassing actually. sweatdrop So, what I meant by my previous statement is that now you can talk about your involvement with the annual ball (a huge recognizable Gaia event) instead of my feeble attempts at keeping a guild for adults going. I didn't mean for it to come across badly. sweatdrop

Mademoiselle Alvinette eek Really? I can't believe I was ever that stupid! I honestly don't recall doing that, and I'm sorry for the times I did. I promise I don't go around on Gaia bragging about my crew status on this or any guild--in fact, I don't think I've ever mentioned the guilds I'm in in any of my forum posts. My verbal stupidity at cons comes from the fact that I'm socially awkward around strangers when meeting them face to face, I know next to nothing about the vast worlds of anime, manga and video games, I get kind of intimidated by others' knowledge of these things, and I was just trying to make conversation. I did NOT mean to come off as bragging or thinking that I'm "special" in any way. I was just trying to say SOMETHING because I didn't know what else to talk about. I didn't mean to brag or to embarrass you. You know that I write better than I talk (although that's not saying much), and you know that I know how to behave myself online, no matter how awkward I may be in real life. Umm...how about them Braves? sweatdrop Don't worry about it too much. blaugh It's a little embarrassing, but it's nothing bad. I remember the last time you did that was at Kami-Con. We were downstairs in the gaming area, and you were talking to a guy down there while we were waiting out a dead spot before closing ceremonies. You were telling a guy about Gaia and trying to get him on the site. I don't think it's a bad thing or anything. I actually thought it was kind of endearing that you felt so happy to be a crew member in this little guild. blaugh No one is accusing you of being arrogant or boastful or anything. I was half teasing you about it when I made that comment earlier about it. wink
As for the Braves, I don't follow baseball. rolleyes wink rofl

Mademoiselle Alvinette I kind of do! In fact, baseball is the only sport I can watch on television without being bored to tears. Which is kind of funny because it's sort of a slow sport! Maybe it's because I have so many pleasant memories of watching baseball with my grandparents and aunts when I was little. *shrugs* And--sorry if I blew the other matter out of proportion. Kami-Con was over a year ago and I'd just made crew in this guild not long before, so I was still in the "squee" stage. blaugh I still get all happy if/when I make crew in any guild, but I know that nobody wants to hear me brag. mrgreen And about the Annual Ball...hoo boy do I feel out of my league. I don't even have the guts to tell everyone that I decided to make my character a girl since you told me I could. I'm so intimidated...and yet, I don't want to quit either. I'm just kind of "hobbit-like," I guess. I'm a "homebody" on this guild, and I have a hard time getting out of my comfort zone sometimes...even with the happy anonymity of the Interwebz. blaugh My little brother played baseball for years as a kid, and I was always bored to tears watching his games. I think the only sports I can actually watch without falling asleep are gymnastics and figure skating.
What are you intimidated about? You have just about as much experience as half the people in there. We've made so many changes here and there along the way that no one is going to think twice about a gender change with the characters. Actually, I'm pretty sure that no one will even remember which gender your character was supposed to be in the beginning since we had already changed character genders several times before you arrived. If you can write a master's thesis in history, there is no way you're out of your league with a user-run roleplaying event! If you could act so perfectly on stage for all those years in college, there is no way you're not up to snuff! You have to have some confidence in yourself!
