"She needs someone familiar, but not here," Sosol said with a resolute nod. Sure, he wasn't a parent, but after taking care of her for the past week (with help), he felt he had the right to be part of this conversation.
"That kind of rules out a lot, hon..."
"But not everyone," Tyler said. "Ms. Eleanora, for instance, if you want to keep her local."
Sosol blinked, a flash of memory popping into his head. Wasn't she engaged now...? Oh, that was going to be awkward...

"Did I hear somethin' about trackin' down?" Max asked, peeking her head down from the stairs with a beaming smile. "Ooh, ooh! Pick me!"
"That's probably not the best idea," Tyler said to both MacPere and Max. "She's come to see us as her family...handing her off to strangers, even if they are related to her, seems like a step backward."
Sosol blinked in surprise. "...she told you already?" He asked Eli, somewhat relieved that the situation was taken care of...
