Max blinked. "...pigeon...?" She asked, a hand on her hip. "Well, never mind that...I was thinkin' of goin' out. Wanna come with? Anythin' ya need?" She asked, gazing up at him cheerfully.
"Well, there's a trio that's been long-missed!" Azana greeted them with a wave. "Hey, Sol...round's on me. These three deserve it!"

Laura blinked from her seat at the bar, quietly sipping at her drink as the arrivals gained rather a lot of interest. She hadn't the faintest who they were, but they had to be important somehow...

Chris led Stacy and Mike to the group's usual table. The trio looked worn out and exhausted. Chris had put them through a highly intensive workout until they received word of an illegal arms deal going down near Durem. It took some doing, but they managed to take the criminals down.
Stacy looked at Chris, but said nothing. She knew that he was trying to work through his guilt. Ever since he had found out about Angeles, he had been in a deep depression. Not even Crystal or Jake could snap him out of it.
Mike also worried about their friend and leader. He barely spoke these days and Mike was at a loss to figure out what, if anything, could make Chris...Chris.

Sosol frowned at Chris and the others...even from his position, he could feel the exhaustion, the depression, the blame. With a sigh, he got to work, letting Azana handle communications for the time being. To Laura's confusion, he spoke quietly. "Chris, Stacy, Mike...part of the Millennium Knights. Superheroes."
Azana sat at the table as well, unwittingly taking Jake's usual spot. "You guys look wiped out...you haven't been ghost hunting, too, have you?"
"I dunno! I just got back from a chat with my friend Hope and I've got some money burnin' a hole in my pocket!"

"I wish we had it that easy. Prism and Wildfire have that one covered. Chris dragged us out of bed this morning and had us taking on arms dealers before noon."
"It was four to one. It was almost too much for us." I'm really worried about him, guys. I've never seen him like this before.

Sosol gave a knowing nod to Stacy as each of their favorites hit the table. Each had their way of coping...Chris' was, well, a little less healthy than others.
"Wow...makes my job feel easy. Hey, Sol...who's on shift?"
"Kristen...you're wondering where Tyler is, aren't you?"
"We could totally do that...I'm on at least half their lists..." Max hummed in thought, looking to the painting. "Almost done, huh..?"

Mike gave Sosol a nod of thanks and got to work on his coping mechanism: beer. He was a soldier. He knew that most of them had risky jobs. Angeles had put her life on the line and sacrificed herself to save others. He missed her, but he also knew that there was nothing that anyone could have done to stop her. He said a silent toast to her memory and drank.
"I'm certainly wondering where he is. I could use my boyfriend right about now." Her coping mechanism was surrounding herself with friends and family. She had even taken a couple of weeks away from the office to be with the others.
Chris simply sat there. He didn't even touch his drink. I his mind, he had failed. He needed to be stronger and wouldn't rest until he was.

Unsure of what to do with herself, Laura bit at her lip, making a retreat into the kitchen for a sandwich, trying to keep the clopping of her heels to the minimum. The group of apparent 'superheroes' seemed pensive and didn't need her excessive noise to disturb them.
