I was introduced at the end of 2005 when my dad said, "Oh, hey, your mum loved this show when she was little, come see the finale!" I thought, oh hey, this is nice. Upon seeing the Christmas Invasion I made up my mind that I HAD to see the rest, and by the end of that season I was looking on the BBC website and through the old novellas for anything to fuel geekdom.

A geekdom which eventually inspired me to start creating rubbish like this.

(Personally, and with apologies to those who disagree, I really dislike Ten. It's always "Gallifrey this, Rose that, wah wah wah!" as if he had had this on his chest for millenia and was venting for the very first time. He's very nice to look at, granted, but he does things which make Baker II's Doctor look like a pleasant and emotionally stable fellow.)

The first Doctor Who story I remember seeing is Genesis Of The Daleks late on a Saturday night on PBS (I'm an American fan). I was, like, 8 at the time and I thought, "This is good. I want to see more." Then the local PBS station stopped broadcasting it, and I forgot all about the Doctor until I saw an ad for the new series on the SciFi Channel. That immediately resparked my interest. Now, as for why I like it, it shows that the world can be amazing, and that the Earth in constantly saved by a man who hops around like he's had WAY too much Mountain Dew xD

Started watching by accident actually. I was at my neighbours having dinner with my family and theirs. A friend with my neighbour's family suddenly mentioned Doctor Who and turned on the TV (which is right next to the table and pretty big so it's very noticable). At that point, all i've heard about it was from my VERY obsessed friends at school so I thought it might be worth watching. It started in the middle of The Shakespeare Code with Martha thumping the Doctor's back (two hearts! lol!). It seemed interesting so i watched it the next week and i became hooked. I LOVE Doctor Who now! How do they come up with these storylines that fit in so well with real history? Like Queen Victoria's condition and Shakespeare's inspiration for "Shall I compare thee" and Macbeth (three witches).

David Tennant is my favourite Doctor. I think he's the funniest but Christopher Eccleston is funny in the way he acts. I like Tennant so much i watch Goblet of Fire over and over just to see him act funny in it blaugh heh, he dyed his hair black! Lol! He looked so different i didn't know it was him until someone told me smile

Anyway, i type too much so i'll stop now...i could write more but i won't biggrin

omg i tottaly agree with you response... i gott introduced to doctor who back when chisthppher E. was the doctor..tho' i fell in love when david tennants 10th doctor was shown *melts*
so far my favorite doctors are: 8, 10, and 5

First time I watched Doctor Who, I was flipping through the channels and saw David Tennant, and I was like OMG!! David Tennant, I love him. So I watched the episode and I've been hooked since.

My friend told me about Doctor Who.. well she actually just told me she was in love with someone called "the Doctor" and I was like, " confused Who?" And she was like, "Yeah, that's the one!" And that just made me more confused, so I looked "Doctor Who" up on Google images and found like ten (XD) different guys under that, so I looked it up on youtube and became introduced to it. I put on the first episode of the 2005 series and was like, "o0 wth? This isn't that hot dude in the brown!" so my friend told me to just wait and watch. I loved the first episodes in the first series SO much, I just watched it for the awesome storylines and not for the "hot dude in the brown" that I was waiting for. Then, "the Parting of the Ways" happened and I was like, "OH THAT'S HIM!!! MAN, he's hot!!!!" So then I got the next two series' on DVD and noticed his undying energy and got just a bit annoyed, but not too much.. now I'm watching the older stuff as well as the new, to get myself caught up. Sheesh.. I must get this gob from watching 10 too much, this is sick XD

The first Doctor I had seen was Tom Baker. My husband came home one day and said, "Honey come here I wast to show you something." He was really excited. Anyway he got online and went to the BBC website. I stood there for a moment then said, "So they are planning to start the series back up. That is way cool." Then he told me that they was only going to show them in the UK. I pouted. Then he said that we could probably download them.

When I got to see the new episodes I was surprised at how well they looked compared to the once I had seen.

The Christmas before the new series came out I bought my husband The Key to Time box set. We have been buying the new series since they been put on sale.

I like doctor who so much mostly because of all the humor and jokes. there are a lot of scifi shows that have no jokes or funnies a all! that is kinda boring. I got introduced to doctor who by my aunt, who grew up with it(she live in the US but watched the tapes and DVDs) one night when i spent the night. she showed me the one with martha and i loved it sraight away. now i am a bit obsessed...

I have to agree that I love the Doctor's humor. He can be serious or funny, and is super smart. What isn't to like? heart

Well I started nack when i went to london for christmas. I saw the end of voyage of the damed. It looked really cool. Then a year ago or so my mom discovered doctor who. And then it went from there. I like the doctor because he is a real hero. He does cause people to sacrifice themselves but he tries and tries not to have that happen. I like the fact that he doesn't always win but He does once in a while. He's my hero!

One word gives my reason: EXTERMINATE!

Okay, okay. Just kidding, but I must say the villains have got to be one of my top reasons for liking the series. Of course, being raised in sci-fi and the theme of the series being sci-fi helps. The Satan's Pit being the first episode I saw kinda helped seeing as it had me on the edge of my seat wondering what the creature was, etc. The humor, the emotion, etc, that's portrayed with the series also has me hooked.

I think it just happens to be one of the best series out there currently.

Well, the reasons I like DW is because
1) The actors are fantastic. I read all the episodes, but only saw a few of them (a couple of 4, 1 of 5, all of 9, and most of 10).
Tom Baker did it with such thrill. He even added what HE wanted.
Peter Davidson used himself in this. He didn't change, he just changed the words.
Christopher Eccleston was able to add anger to every line (even when he was supposed to be happy). That's pretty hard to do.
David showed me how to be a kid again. At least he made me smile more often.
2) What they do. The show isn't about REALITY stressed ! It's about traveling through time and space. HOW COOL IS THAT!?
3) Where they perform. I know most of it's in England. But, they show the different parts of it. I'm so glad they added Dubai. They even went to a place nearby where I used to live. SAN FRANSISCO! xd
4) It's never the same thing. Yes, they have a little theme to it. But, it's not just the past. It's the past, present, future, and what comes of it.
5) Why they do it. TO HAVE FUN!!!!!!!! :3
