"Thank you, Miss Lewis," Isaac replied over the intercom, like always, and he picked up the phone and said, "Hi Dad! What's up?" "I've just got off of the phone with your mother," Grant informed him, "It seems that she is just a little bit put out because you left her on hold. Not that I'm bothered by it. She should know very well by now that she shouldn't be calling during business hours, but that's your mother for you. She was also going on and on about something called 'speed dating' that I'm supposed to talk you into doing. Of course that's your decision, not mine. Anyway, she wants me to talk to you about all of that, and so if she asks you later on, you can tell her that we have talked." Isaac nodded in agreement and replied, "And I'll tell her that I found your advice to be wise and profound." "Don't tell her that! She might not believe you!" Grant said jokingly in return.
"By the way, have you seen the new poster that we just got back from the printer?" Isaac inquired. "Yes, I have, and it's perfect!" Grant stated approvingly, "Is that our model, or their model?" "Our model," Isaac stated, referring to the buxom brunette holding the drill in the poster. "Glad to hear that, because she is the ideal spokesperson for us," Grant said in return. By that he meant that the majority of consumers that purchased and used tools were men, and so a good-looking and scantily-clad brunette was just the person that was needed to catch and hold the attention of said consumers. The model didn't necessarily need to know how to use the tool, she just needed to look good while holding it. That was a concept that had existed since the beginning of advertising, if not longer. Another good example of that basic concept was all of the car magazines that put a bikini-clad woman on their covers. Grant then went on to say, "Oh, before I forget, we're starting to gather together some ideas for fun activities for our next family picnic. Let me know if you think of anything, and be sure to ask Miss Lewis if she has any suggestions." "I will," Isaac promised. "Alright then, I'll let you get back to work. Oh, and I do want to see that brunette in a lot more of our advertising," Grant said in conclusion. "You will. Trust me. Talk to you later," Isaac replied, and then his father hung up.
Isaac tried to get back to work, but he was too busy thinking about that speed dating thing. It was clear that his mother was going to bug him about it until either he did it or a very hot place froze over. Knowing that the second option wasn't likely to happen in the foreseeable future, Isaac decided that perhaps it wouldn't hurt to give it a try, if only to get his mother off of his back about it. Isaac doubted that anything lasting will come from it, but he wouldn't mind it if he made a couple new female friends. Having reached a decision, he pushed the intercom button and said, "A couple things for you, Miss Lewis. First, Dad says that we're starting to gather together some ideas for activities for the company's next family picnic. If you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to bring them up." Isaac then paused to see if she had any suggestions to make on the spot.

After a moment of thought, Isaac replied, "No, that's all for now. Just let me know if you decide to go someplace for lunch." Having said that, Isaac began to contemplate what he wanted to do for lunch. It so happened that his two brothers arrived just then. As they were approaching Miss Lewis' desk, Thomas, the younger of the two, was heard to say, "Hey, have you seen the new girl in Accounting? She can check my books any day!" Ben, the heir apparent, so to speak, of the family business, gave Thomas a reproachful look as he chided, "Really now, Thomas. I'm surprised at you. A married man like you gawking at other women? It's shameful, I tell you!" Thomas merely laughed at that and replied, "Well, now there's the pot calling the kettle black!" When they arrived at Miss Lewis' desk, Ben cheerfully said to her, "Good morning, Miss Lewis. Is the kid in?" (Both Ben and Thomas took after their mother in that regard.) "Ben and I are going to Hooters for lunch, and we wanted to know if Isaac wants to come along," Thomas informed her, "Who knows? He might get lucky this time!" Of course Thomas did not elaborate on what he meant by 'lucky'.

"We just missed him, huh?" Thomas replied with a touch of disappointment. "I'll call his cell phone," Ben promptly volunteered as he pulled out his brand-new Galaxy S3 smartphone. Moments later, Isaac's phone began to vibrate. He had taken the precaution to turn down the ringtone volume while he had been resting, and hadn't yet turned it up again. After glancing at the caller id, he answered it and said, "Hey, Ben! What's up?" "Thomas and I are at your office and we were going to invite you to join us for lunch at Hooters, but Miss Lewis says that we've just missed you. Where are you at?" Ben said in return. Isaac did a silent face palm because he had forgotten to rescind his 'no calls or visitors' order. Not wanting to embarrass Miss Lewis by coming out of his office after she had said that he wasn't there, he replied, "I'm... uh... you know... in the little boy's room. Tell you what. I'll meet you downstairs in the main lobby in five minutes." Outside of Isaac's office, Ben nodded in agreement and said, "See you in five! Hope everything comes out alright!" Ben hung up and reported to Thomas, "Isaac's on the can. He'll meet us in the main lobby in five minutes." Glancing at his watch, Thomas said in return, "If we hurry, we can swing by Accounting along the way." Ben and Thomas then went on their way.
Meanwhile, Isaac had waited for a full minute to give his brothers time to leave. He then cautiously peeked out of his office, Seeing that his brothers had left, he walked out and said to Miss Lewis, "I'm going to lunch now. If anyone calls or asks for me, tell them that I'm with my brothers at Hooters." He started towards the elevator, but then paused and returned to instruct Miss Lewis, "If my mother calls again, do not tell her that I'm at Hooters with my brothers. Tell her that we went to... uh... Dennys for lunch."
((OOC: It has just occurred to me that I should have called Thomas 'Jerry' instead. You get it, right?))

Once the three men had entered Hooters and had been shown to a table, a buxom redhead wearing the requisite skin-tight tank top and shorts came to the table and cheerfully said, "Welcome to Hooters, gentlemen! My name's Colleen and I'll be your waitress today. What would you like to drink? After they had ordered drinks and appetizers, Colleen gave them time to decide on what they wanted to order for lunch. Ben waited for a couple minutes and remarked, "I think that Colleen likes you, Isaac. You should ask her out." "Maybe I will. I'll think about it," Isaac replied. Shaking his head in dismay, Thomas prodded, "Don't just think about it! Do it! Here, I'll get you started." Colleen soon returned to take their meal orders, and after the orders had been given, Thomas said to her, "My kid brother Isaac there is on the shy side, and he wants to know when you get off of work today." Immediately perceiving the direction that the conversation was going, Colleen held up her left hand so that her wedding ring was clearly visible, and she replied, "Sorry, I'm already spoken for."
After giving Thomas a dirty look, Isaac smiled at Colleen and said, "Congratulations!" "OK, I have to ask this," Ben said, "Is your husband OK with you working here?" Colleen shrugged dismissively and replied, "Why wouldn't he be? He knows that I won't do anything behind his back, and as a matter of fact, he's rather proud of the fact that his wife is good enough to be a Hooters girl. I was even featured in a photo spread in Hooters Magazine about six months ago. Isn't that something that you would brag about if I was your wife?" Nodding in agreement, Ben said in return, "That's an excellent point!" "What issue was that?" Thomas then asked. Colleen grabbed a napkin, wrote the volume and issue number of the magazine that she appeared in, and when she gave it to Thomas, she informed him, "If you can't find a copy of the magazine, the photos are online. If you do find the magazine, bring it in and I'll autograph it for you." "Actually, I'll let Isaac do that," Thomas said in return, knowing full well that he would catch all kinds of hell if his wife found such a magazine in his possession. To make a long story short, Isaac had an enjoyable meal with his brothers, but left Hooters no closer to having a date than when he entered. He returned to his office, fully expecting to find Miss Lewis at her desk.

"Thanks again, Miss Lewis," Isaac said as he took the note from her. Once he was in his office, he entered the information on the note into his smart phone. After that, he contemplated the parade of beauties that he was likely to find at the speed dating. No doubt there will be a wide variety of ethnicity, hair and eye color, and body types. The common assumption that he was making for all of them was that they would all be good-looking. It occurred to him that perhaps he could use the speed dating thing as a good excuse to leave early from work. Speaking of work, he still had plenty to do. Some of the paperwork that he had been given were reports that he needed to initial to prove that he had looked through them, and then they were to be passed on to the member of the board of directors that Isaac answered directly to. (Not his brother.) This board member happened to be a woman named Mrs. Shavonne Meckle. Her husband was also on the board of directors, and their story was one of the few times when an office romance had worked out well for both. Once he had finished with all of those reports, he took them out to Miss Lewis and requested, "Will you please take these up to Mrs. Meckle? Thanks. Oh, and while you are there, please tell her that I've been thinking about activities for the family picnic, and I'd say that having organized races for the different age groups would be fun. As in sack races, and three-legged races, and relay races, and that kind of thing." Actually, that idea sounded pretty obvious and was probably being suggested by others, but it was what he had come up with so far.
