i do read other books, just not books that suck a** that i happen to not like, i recently read the davinci code, and i must say it was a brilliant book that i couldnt put down. if you like the lemony snicket series that fine by me, just dont go trying to rub it off on me.

Then don't keep saying how terrible it is.
I read the Da Vinci Code. sweatdrop My sister hates it though so I got her copy. xp Well...she didn't want it so technically...it would have been mine anyway.

Well...I won't say at all that I'm particularly 'loyal' to the Harry Potter fandom in the first place. I do enjoy the books, yes, but I'm not particularly obsessed with the series that I live and breathe with every book and movie that comes out.

My love for the series will probably wane in the years after book 7 as all interests do, but I see no reason to trash the books either. It's a good series, and worth a reread some day, I'm sure.

And regarding other good authors whom I consider on-par or even above J.K. Rowling (in which I now state is my own opinion, and no one else's), I'd say that Terry Pratchett and Diana Wynne Jones are certainly worth a read. Their fantasy-themed works are simply amazing. biggrin

Not quite...I am just waiting... bad enough I am hiding the books so when my brother comes to visit he won't burn the books.

Generally for me, this is how it works:

Big huge hype: Not interested
Middle of hype: Checks it out. Interested
Hype ends: Still mildly interested. Death to interest in a year or so if no new hype is created.

This is how it worked for Pokemon, LOTR, Music, Books, ... pretty much anything.

Well i gonna miss harry potter, after i translated it to another languaje, after the people labeled me as a harry potter fan, it gonna be hard to just dump all this HP time... you can say that there's another available books, but you followed them for so many years, loved the characters and buyed so many stuff?
