"That might be the reason," Debra stated, "After all, if you really like someone, you don't want to insult that person by being rude to that person's friends. You'd want to at least be polite to those friends. Tell me this. What would you be thinking about Alex right now if, instead of being nice to me this morning, he had been calling me a s**t or a weirdo, and saying all of that stupid s**t that a macho guy says when he's trying to build himself up by putting someone else down. I would be mad enough to kick him in the family jewels, but that's just me."

"I suppose it would make me dislike him all that much more. I dislike people who are like that especially if it's towards you or Aeron, my only friends. It's just hard to believe he actually...likes me. I mean me, out of all the other girls in this whole school. There's nothing to special about me in the first place.." Sofia muttered in response as she finished heating her food. She didn't have much confidence in herself and the things she did mainly because growing up her mother never praised her for the things she accomplished, everything was either criticize or pushed aside like it didn't matter. Love wasn't exactly a concept she knew so she wasn't sure what she felt toward Alex, the only thing she did truly love was Bo...her dog. Other than that loving a person was a foreign concept.

"Nothing special about you?," Debra asked in disbelief, "What in the world are you talking about? I've seen all of the musical instruments that you can play, and how artistic you are, and you can cook like nobody's business, and to top it off, you are attractive in your own special way. If Alex can't appreciate any of that, then he's a bigger idiot than he looks! No offense meant." After a brief pause, she then asked, "By the way, who's Aeron? I don't think I've met him yet."

Sofia blushed lightly from the compliments and smiled, thanking Debra softly. She thought for a moment and chuckled lightly, "Aeron is a friend of mine, he is a huge rebel...I think you'd like him. He's gay though...but then again I've never really seen him with any kind of boyfriend. A part of me questions if he really is gay or not. I think he might be doing all of his rebellious acts to piss his parents off. Speaking of which he may come to school tomorrow so I'll introduce him to you then." The bell had rang and so it was time to finish off the rest of the day. When she was going to walk out she looked at Debra and asked, "I'm not sure if you've had a boyfriend before or anything...but there's no harm in asking anyway. How would a person really know that they have feelings for someone?" Sofia was completely serious, she wanted to know so she could see if she really did have feelings for Alex or not.

Debra smirked a little when Sofia described Aeron, and she replied, "He sounds like my kind of guy! Us rebels have to stick together, you know!" She was already contemplating the look on her grandmother's face when Debra said to her, 'I've made a new friend today. He's rebellious like me and he's gay!' After thinking about Sofia's question for a moment, she said, "While I have never had a boyfriend, there was a time when I was friends with the boy who lived next door. Not really boyfriend/girlfriend, like I just said, but we were best of friends. We were alwyas doing things together. In fact, both of our families did things together, and my mother and his mother were the best of friends, and all that good stuff. That was when I used to live in a different state, and then my family moved to this state because of my father's job and to be closer to my grandmother, and my friend and I kind of lost touch with each other. Of course all of that was before the accident. Anyway, I think that if you are attracted to someone, and you can overlook the faults that the someone has which are insignificant, and you do nice things for that person because you want to, rather than because you have to, then yes, you do have feelings for that person." After a brief pause, Debra added, "Of course it does help when that person can say the same about you."

"I see...I suppose I understand what you mean," Sofia said with a nod though she was still unsure so she figured she'd make a list of things and go down that list to see if in the end she did have feeling for him or not. Nonetheless she parted ways with Debra and continued with classes until the end of the day. For some reason every time lunch was over the rest of the day was dull and boring because she didn't have Debra to keep her company and she couldn't see Alex either. Then and there she had to add that to the list. Like Debra had said, she was able to look past his faults, she did things for him because she wanted to though yes somethings she did because she had to but all and all she did it because she wanted to do it, now she added on the list that he was good looking and that for some reason her mind would wander to him every now and then. What did this mean?! Surely she couldn't have feelings for him...right?

The last bell rang and Sofia, like usual made her way toward the parking lot where she always met up with Debra and Alex but she wasn't sure if he was going to be at the practice. Nonetheless she happened to run into a bit of trouble..as usual though for some reason recently no one had bothered her. It was probably due to the Brandy scandal but of course Brandy decided to finally strike. After all she did say she was going to do something to Sofia for that photo incident.

Alex was assuming that Sofia already knew that he was going to football practice again, and so he had gone straight there without bothering to speak to her about it. Debra went to meet Sofia like usual. Just as she had caught up to Sofia, though, Brandy had shown up with a number of sheets of paper in her hand. There was no sign of Team Bimbo, which Debra found to be interesting and disturbing at the same time. Could those other cheerleaders be up to something? "Oh there you are, Sofia!" Brandy said in mock cheerfulness, "Oh good! You're here too, Debra! I just wanted to show you both that I'm just as good at photography as you are, Sofia." She then shoved one of the papers into Sofia's hands and another into Debra's hands. The paper was a computer print-out of a photo of two girls kissing. The girl with her back to the camera had black hair and black clothing like Debra, while the other girl was dressed much like Sofia usually dressed for school. Of course the camera wasn't in a position to see the faces of the two girls. Someone who had seen Debra and Sofia together might come to the conclusion that Debra and Sophia had been caught making out with each other. If one took a closer look at the picture, though, one might noticed the tuft of red hair that was sticking out from under 'Debra's' wig, while the other girl was the same height as the brunette who was a part of Team Bimbo. "Really, Sofia, I had no idea that you're a lesbian!" Brandy stated matter-of-factly, and when she glanced at Debra, she added, "I can easily guess that about you, but Sofia? It just... blows my mind!" "In order for that to happen, you have to have a mind to begin with!" Debra remarked tartly. Ignoring that comment, Brandy continued, "Anyway, as we speak, my friends are spreading copies of this lovely photo all over the school so that everyone knows!"

Sofia studied the picture for a bit while Brandy jabbered on about God knows what and Debra replying, a rather funny and truthful comment. Slowly a smile grew on her face and she glanced up at the mean girl who thought she had won this little 'fight' between the two. "It seem's you got me Brandy. But you seem to be forgetting that I don't care what you do or say anymore. You're just a sad teenage girl who needs to go around harassing others just to make yourself feel better. I feel sorry for you and may God have mercy on your soul. And tell your friends that made out for this picture that I said congratulations on her lesbian relationship, after all they did make out. Now if you'll excuse me, my 'girlfriend' and I are going now." And with those final words she motioned for Debra to come along, now heading for the car. It didn't matter what the people of this school thought about her. So long as Debra, Alex and Aeron knew the truth she was fine with it. Though it was hard to tell what Brandy's reaction would be after what she just said to her. Sofia always wondered if Brandy had the 'balls' to physically attack Sofia...though that would be a mistake for Brandy, Sofia took self defense classes as a child because her Nanny felt it was important for her to do so since she was rich and people would take advantage of her in the future.

A very mischievous idea had come to Debra's mind. As Sofia started towards the car, she announced, "I'm sorry, Sofia, but I'm breaking up with you for Brandy." Before Brandy had the chance to do anything, Debra glomped her and declared in a high-pitched girlish voice, "I am so hot for you right now!" "Get away from me, you freak!" Brandy snapped back. She forced her way out of Debra's embrace, and then fled for the relative safety of the school building. After laughing contemptuously, Debra quickly rejoined Sofia. Once they had gotten into the car, Debra asked, "That was her revenge? I have never seen anything so pathetic in my entire life! Anyone with half a brain can see that the photo is staged! That means that Alex should be able to figure it out on his own." Debra paused, and then sheepishly added, "Sorry about that crack about Alex. It was really mean, wasn't it?"

Sofia laughed and watched as Debra was messing with Brandy before the stupid girl ran off. Debra really did remind her of Aeron and she was sure the two would be the best of friends, they had so much in common. She smiled at her and shook her head, "It's okay and thanks for that, it was really fun. Perhaps now she'll realize that she needs brains to actually get any form of revenge on me." Sofia then got into her car and once Debra was in she drove off.

"I'm going to drop you off at your house. I need to go back to school, I need to practice for a band concert. It's next week and we'll be working hard all this week. I've already missed a day of practice because I was sick so I have to catch up today. So, I'll see you tomorrow," Sofia said with a smile and continued to drive off. The car was full with Debra's usual tunes, Sofia not minding such music. And it didn't take long to reach Debra's grandmothers house.

A short time later, Alex was standing on the sideline of the football field while Nate was practicing running plays when Greg appeared with a paper in his hand. "Well, well, well! What brings you to practice?" Alex asked his friend with a smile. "I was just wondering if you've seen the latest photo rumor," Greg replied as he held out the paper. Alex took it and was stunned by the photo on the paper. "From the looks of things, Sofia and Goth Girl was going at it pretty hot and heavy," Greg remarked, "I'm not sure if I should feel sorry for you or congratulate you." "What's that supposed to mean?" Alex snapped back. Greg shrugged and replied, "You know how it is. If a man comes home and catches his wife in bed with another man, he'll ask her 'Why did you do this to me?', but if that same man comes home and catches his wife in bed with another woman, he'll asked her 'Why did you start without me?'. Like that." "This is bull s**t!" Alex declared heatedly, "There is no way in the world those two girls are Sofia and Debra! Believe me, I would know if Sofia was like that, and she's not!" "They do kind of look like Sofia and Debra," Greg said in return. After taking a closer look at the photo, though, Greg pointed at something and said, "Oh look! Red hair! Who do we know that has red hair? Someone in Team Bimbo, I betcha!" "That little b***h!" Alex swore vehemently. "Who?" Greg prompted. "Brandy, of course!" Alex reasoned, "Who else would do something like this?" Alex paused long enough to wad up the photo and throw it to the side, and then he announced, "When I catch up to that little b***h, I'm going to shove my crutch so far up her backside that she'll be cleaning off the rubber cap at the end with her tongue!" Greg nodded in approval and said, "Sounds like fun. I'll hold her down for you."

OK! I'll see you tomorrow," Debra said in return. As much as she enjoyed being with Sofia, she knew that she had to go home sometimes. Besides, she had some studying to do, and she wanted to be in her own room as she began to plan to get a little payback from Brandy. While Sofia was willing to ignore what had happened, Debra wasn't quite so willing to just let it slide, and she was still trying to become the most hated girl in the school. Her revenge will take a lot of thought because Debra intended it to be bold and decisive, instead of the sloppy and ultimately futile attempt at revenge that Brandy had pulled.

After Debra got out and went into her house Sofia drove off back to school, already knowing some people would come up to her and bug her about the picture despite how stupid it was how it was clearly fake. Sofia reached the school and walked toward the band room where everyone just arrived, some of them ignored her, those being girls that disliked her for marrying Alex. Some of them spoke about the very flyer, some passing it around. Either way she ignored it and simply walked over to the piano and began looking at the music sheet, the teacher catching her up with what she had missed. It so happened that the window in by the piano showed the football field and she could see them practicing. It wasn't hard to spot Alex who stood by the side lines talking to Nate. She couldn't help but hope he hadn't seen the flyer and believe it.

After a couple hours of practicing, Sofia said goodbye to her instructor and made her way toward the field. She figured she could wait a bit to head home with Alex. Sadly team bimbo was hanging around watching the team and all. They happened to be sitting on the top of the bleachers and Sofia was sure to ignore them when she reached the field. She sat at the bottom and waited for Alex to stop her.

Alex was a little surprised when he glanced around and saw that Sofia was there. He had been fully aware of the fact that Team Bimbo was there, but he had chosen to not carry out his threat against Brandy. The excuse for not doing so, he had told himself, was because it would be nearly impossible to clean all of the blood from the crutch if he actually shoved it up Brandy's backside far enough for the tip to reach her mouth. Even so, he couldn't stop himself from imagining how much fun it would be to give it a try. Alex had no idea if Sofia had seen the photo that was floating around, and he actually hoped that she hadn't. He decided that he wasn't going to bring it up, just in case she hadn't. Seeing that Nate was doing well on his own for now, Alex went over to Sofia and said, "I wasn't expecting to see you here. Did you have a band practice or something?" Meanwhile, Debra had come up with her method of revenge in a very short period of time, and at the moment she was busy making her preparations. If things went the way that Debra wanted them to, Brandy would never forget Debra for the rest of her life.

"Yeah, we have a concert next week and we're practicing all this weak. I had to catch up since I missed practice yesterday. We just finished so I figured I'd wait till you were done and we both just head home together..." It was still rather hard to look at him right in the eyes but she would not avoid him...that was plain rude. She had glanced back when she heard Brandy and her team giggling, most likely due to their sorry attempt of revenge. It didn't really bother Sofia...it would only bother her if Alex thought it was ready, but she had come to also realize that he wasn't just a hot jock but rather smart. Now she had to ask if he had seen it or not. Either way it was bound to be shown to him.

"By the way...have you by any chance seen something...a certain fan of mine decided to take a 'picture' of 'me and Debra." She was sure to put up the air quotes. Clearly stating that it wasn't real at all.
