Howard took a seat at the bar as everyone discussed whether or not they'd met. It wasn't that strange to be bumping into people you'd never seen before, it happened to him a lot, especiallly so around here.
"Yeah, probably having one of those cat-things where they have to wander around for a little. He'll be back soon enough."

Siren waved hello to everybody before turning to Myras "Yeah I named him and I don't think Albee minds much. At least I have not gotten a chance to ask him if he minds." Turning to Howard "Okay that's fine I was just wondering." Turning back to Terry and Azana "I have seen the both of you a couple of times but I had not met you officially. So what was everybody up to recently? It seems like something big went down."

Terry couldn't resist any further, unwrapping the cloth and finding Luger's chain, slightly chipped, laying before him. He lifted it, surprised that it didn't begin to drain him. "Hm...Tyler, has anyone touched this since Luger was defeated?"
"Didn't look like it, but Fenyx claims he drained its energy considerably. Why? Doesn't it work anymore?" Tyler asked, emerging from downstairs.
"One way to find out," Azana said, grabbing hold of another section of it. "...it's weaker than Sol described, yes...but it's still there. Maybe it just needs a re-charge."
To Siren's question, Tyler was the one to answer. "Shut down a false asylum permanently, in short. The longer story's a little more interesting, but I'm just glad for it all to be over, and with a pretty good outcome."

hm... That's extremely powerful. It has a long history, and I can tell just by the wear on it. This chain is definately dangerous to have, but would be worse in the hands of those who can't be trusted. Don't let it out of your sight.

Kristen tried to see it from a distance, but she had lost the boost that Howard's roll provided. Sighing, she walked closer, placing one finger on a link as her eyes went golden with a vision. The battle against Luger flashed through her mind in bits and pieces, including the phasing through the walls, and through her brother.
"Howard is correct. This weapon must be destroyed."
"Kristen...what did you see...?" Terry asked. For her to be so adamant...what was he holding?
Kristen bit her lip lightly, glad to get her hand away from a weapon that hurt her brother. "...this is slavery. Each link of this chain is not of metal, but a lost and broken soul twisted by Luger himself. Please, we must set them free, as well..."

Howard crossed his arms and frowned.

Siren leaned forward at Howard's words "Hmmm......I know I had some notes somewhere about this topic. But in the mean time be careful in handling it you don't know what could happen." She starts to flip through one of her notebooks that she pulled out of her bag next to her.

"We will require Miss Stella...the links' physical manifestation will fade if the spirits are released from their torment," Kristen assured them. "I...I could hear them...begging me..."
"Well, that settles it," Tyler said, putting an arm around Kristen's shoulders. "I'm not freeing hundreds of inmates only to keep these guys imprisoned, too."
"I should sleep, then, if you're expecting me to help," Azana stood with a sigh...never done, was it? "Goodnight..."

Howard walked over to comfort Kristen as well, placing a hand on her head to ruffle her hair and grinning into her face. She had comforted him back when he was worrying over Albee and thought it only fair that he would do the same for her.
"Then Miss Stella it is. If we can get her to come back around here."
He looked to Tyler.
"Was there something that happened with Stella? She seems to have disappeared a lot lately from the Inn, but I wasn't really sure why."

a soul is simply a consciousness in energy form. It has a huge amount of energy in it... For one to crystalize it into a metal... It's just wrong.
The real best way to dissipate the energy is to use it, but it'll just fill back up with natural energy. To set free a soul in solid form... You have to end it's existence as either energy or a soul.
The first means using up the entire chain in one spell, destroying multiple souls worth of energy, or enough to propell you across the universe and back, or to break the conciousness of a soul so it forgets it's a soul, leading to an end of emotion and thought.
If you separated the links.... Then you would still need to use each one in a massive spell, but it would be simpler...
I was taught that by a Mage in my village. I believe he's passed on, and is kept alive in spirit inside the carcass of a cockroach. He probably wrote the book siren read... I do hope he was wrong, though. I would hate to use either option.
