The exclamation mark slid downward from the screen, yet to be replaced. The screen remained blank, in an ominous and yet slightly friendly manner. He waited reply from the note.
'Hey sweetheart,
I'm rather a bit stuck in work for the moment, but I've hired you a body guard. His name is Jean-Luke, and is a bit of a mute. But... he'll give you all of the signs you require. Be good to him, hm? And do keep a plug free.
Love you, Eli.'

Gren shook his head. "And have you walk me everywhere? That'd be weird..." Reading the note, he nodded. "This is Jean-Luke, my bodyguard, it seems."
Smiling, he offered a hand. "Nice to meet you."

Azana folded her arms, surveying the mute. "Jean-Luke, huh? We should probably get him acquainted with the regulars, so he knows who's who."
"Well, we've got an incredibly efficient way of doing that..." Sosol nodded, thinking of Max. He wondered how'd she react to the new guy.

A smiling face scrolled onto the screen, Jean Luke taking the hand with fervour. The face disappeared to be replaced with a scrolling message of 'Nice to meet you too'.

Albee looked into the fire.
"Dreams, huh...?"
He hadn't dreamt in a long while; he could only imagine what Charlotte would be dreaming about. But he still wondered what it was that made her do such things. Albee knew that this was pretty much what he had thrown himself into but... heck if it wasn't hard for him right now. And that particular dream was getting worse...

Shaking the hand, Gren noticed a firmness he'd only felt in a metal prosthetic. "Ah...You're a mechanoid, I see. I think you'll get along grandly here!" Pointing in turn, he said "That's Azana, Sosol, and Albee..."

Albee turned about and gave a tired smile, then turned back to look into the fire, muttering under his breath to change it to a blue flame.

Azana and Sosol waved in turn as their names were called.
"I'm going to have to be careful," she muttered to herself, though in a pinch she could be useful for a recharge.
"Morning! That bracer--wow!" Max stopped, giving a wide-eyed smile at Jean-Luke. "Cool! A robo-dude! Hope you're better than the last one that dropped by!"

Reverting back to the friendly smiling face, Jean Luke returned the wave from the notable individuals, scanning their features and adding them his 'friendly' database. His processors gave alert to the loud voice and he turned around, question mark appearing on the screen. He hoped he was better too, strangely.

Albee made a face at the note of being recharged. He got a weird image of the guy suddenly sitting in front of a socket and... Eew.

Max beamed at him. "Jean-Luke...that's a cool name." To his question mark, she continued. "Well, there was this one red guy, real particular about how we referred to 'im. Not quite peaceful enough for this joint; always wanted ta spar with someone."
"That would make sense...about as close to sleeping as he'd get," Sosol nodded, wondering if he was sustained on anything other than electricity.
Azana chuckled, watching Max talk to the mute guard. "Wait...James is upstairs...oh, boy, he's gonna have a geek-fit if he sees you..."

Charlotte grumbled, digging out her dream diary from beneath her pillow, and began to transcribe the reports from her 'superiors'. Being scolded for the giant mecha, explaining she'd been keeping the balance in check...being told not to blow her cover, etc, so on, so forth, in languages. New orders: quit handing out chibis.
She sighed, pouting. "They're no fun at all."
Gren nodded, smiling. "There's nothing else, 'cept that if he needs something, it'll be apparent..."

Jean-Luke gave Max a sweating expression in slight embarrassment, realising what she meant. 'Peace = ✓' scrolled past the screen followed by a serene smiling face. He was rather beginning to like this place. He uploaded her features to his database.

Albee had started stretching for some reason jazz exercise music playing out of a radio he'd summoned up. Maybe a workout would get his mind off things...
