The vampire was a Mayfair was well. Most likely Felix would hear the story, so in the mean time, he sheathed his blade. "My apologize. After what just happened I didn't want to take any chances. I didn't know whose side you were on." Felix watched as Nicolae took his finger that he cut and press it against Antha's lips.

Felix only knew the basics stuff about vampires. Burns in the sun, allergic to garlic, crosses, holy water or anything holy for that fact could affect them. They need blood to survive. Just the basics. He knew he could get an answer for this but now probably wasn't the best time. "You already know, but Felix Mayfair, as of today."

Felix didn't say any more. He just watched Antha and her brother. Watching, waiting. Wondering what was happening.

Vampire blood always had the tendency with mortals to sting a touch going down, and then wherever there was physical damage. By the time Antha had brushed Nicolae's hand away, she was curling up on her side, gripping the sheets and squeezing her eyes shut. She usually liked to watch the blood work, but this time there was too much pain, too much burning and prickling beneath her skin. That was how she knew without opening her eyes that the black and blue splashes all along her body were turning faint yellow and brown, as if they had been inflicted long ago, and that skin was forming over the punctures on her neck and the few cuts and scrapes along her body. But it was her leg that hurt the most, the splintered bone mending itself in a very slight fraction of the time it should have taken. That was what had her fighting back a scream and crawling and clawing her way into Nicolae's lap to lay her head against his leg.
Ten minutes later, it still hurt but it was nothing compared to what it had begun as. The bruises were still visible but they were mere faint blotches of discoloration on her skin and would be gone in another few moments. She could move her leg without pain, and the only signs that her skin had ever been torn besides the blood were small pinpricks and paper-thin streaks of a lighter white against her pale skin, like old scars.
She could see quite clearly again when she opened her eyes, finding Felix looming over her beside Nicolae and Amadeo sitting calmly beside the door as it waiting for a time he felt safe to crawl into her lap. But it was all very unimportant. When she knew she could move easily, without pain or the risk of collapsing, she raised herself up and searched the room until she found Vikteren. She had known he was safe, of course, but knowing it wasn't the same as seeing him whole and safe. It made her sigh with relief and fall back against the bed, the exhaustion of the day so far settling down upon her.
But still she reached for Vikteren, begging silently for him to come closer. Sleet had no reason not to kill him, and so Antha had feared that he would, and even now a touch of it weighed on her heart. He would be back, probably sometime during that same night, and he was angrier now. Antha's physical pain wouldn't be enough to sate him now.
She would have liked to hide those thoughts, that fear, but her voice betrayed her when she said Vikteren's name, softly, calling him.

"As of today?" He scoffed as he stroked Antha's hair. "You've always been a Mayfair. This blood won't let us be anything else." He was quiet listening to histhoughts. He really needed to learn to block them. "Ha. Garlic, holy items.....what stupid rumors."
He turned and swiped a rosary from Antha's bedside table. It had been their grandmother's before her. He held the chain and beads twisted around his hand and the crucifix laying against the palm of his hand. "Humans have always wanted to feel safe from our kind. More than that they've always wanted to feel superior. By that logic we must be evil and the power of God must destroy us." He rolled his eyes again. "Just because we live in the darkness doesn't mean we're demons Felix."
He dropped the rosary carelessly back on the table andlet Antha slip out of his embrace. That was when he finally looked at Vikteren. There was cold anger in those eyes. Pain. Disbelief. Antha had been his the longest. They had loved each other the longest and the most. How could someone take that away from him? He didn't believe it. Not totally. Antha would change her mind again soon and he would be her one true love again. That was how it was supposed to be right?

"Actually I have to say as of today I'm a Mayfair. Most of my life I've lived in the guild. Being call by Felix or my serial number. There was no last name there. By blood I may be a Mayfair. But I don't believe by lifestyle."

Felix looked back at Antha. She seemed to be doing better. Her injuries have healed. Is that what he was doing? Giving her his blood? It seems that he didn't know that much about vampires at all. Or rather, the guild either didn't know that much about vampires, or didn't teach Felix enough about vampires. Either way, it was a subject Felix was flying blind in.

Nicolae snorted and went to his feet. He was a good six feet or better and hadenough lean muscles on him to be imposing. But he didn't try for that. He just ran his hand through the froth of little gold curls around his face that was his hair and looked down at him with his light blue eyes.
"Blood, name, lifestyle, it doesn't matter. You've always been a Mayfair." Welcome to the ******** up world of the Mayfair witches, he told him in his head. He looked over at his shoulder at Antha looking pale and tired in her bed and then back to Felix and the pain in his eyes showed. It wasn't much of a secret that Nicolae was in love with his little sister. It never had been. If Felix couldn't tell then someone would tell him soon. Antha and Nicolae were the newest mascots of incest in the Mayfair family.
"You're one of Julien's bastards right?" He had never been known for tact. Nicolae called them as he saw them. But there was nothing but a little curiousity in his words. He was one of Julien's bastards too after all.

Thanks for welcoming me to the family. Felix answer mentally. It seems that not only can Nicolae read minds but also put words in it as well. It seemed only appropiate to respond to that like this. Felix did take the time to notice his actions. He seemed very concerned about Antha. More so than he would guess was normal. His feelings were greater than just a normal brother-sister bond. That much was obvious.

Felix dropped the subject. It wasn't of his concern. But his accusing question did spark an interest. However, Felix didn't know. "I wouldn't know. Antha might have said something about him being my father or not, but the way she worded it threw me off. I know she knows. She just hasn't told me who exactly my parents are."

For a moment, the mask broke; the relief evident in his face, illuminating it like a spotlight. Vikteren didn't notice the look that Nicolae shot him; either that, or he didn't care. He moved past Antha's brother, sat down on the edge of the bed (put his hands, half-curled around each other, in his lap, so she would not have to see the edges of the gashes knitting slowly together).

He didn't quite smile, but the expression he wore neither could have been called unconcerned. It was enough to be close to Antha--close enough to kiss her, although he thought perhaps Antha would prefer to avoid the bloodshed that would follow, if Nicolae's current state of mind was anything to go by--but tradition required the standard opening line.

He gave it.

"How are you feeling?"

Antha gave a vague, dismissive wave of her hand as she pushed herself up to sit against the pillows. "I'm fine now. Nothing to worry about." She never had been very good about worrying about her own well being. Instead her eyes were focused very steadily on his hands, glancing through other eyes at the spill of blood that she knew was in her attic, seeping down from the window.
It took all of her power to turn away from him, to look at her brother and cousin---well, her other brother, the one with only half of her blood---and sigh at Nicolae. "You take the fun out of everything, you know. Don't you have any respect for family secrets?" There was something in her words then, running like a current through her voice, that said very plainly it was true. "But go discuss it in the library or the parlor. I need a minute."

He looked at Antha quietly and then glanced at Vikteren and that pain was there in his eyes again like a knife in his heart. "Sure, Evie. We'll come to check on you in a little bit."
It took him a few tries to start walking out. He didn't want to leave. Didn't want to leave her alone with him. But he knew better than to disobey Antha. So he clapped a hand on Felix's shoulder and steered himout the door and down the hall.
"Well there you have it. We're brothers." He shook his head and ran another hand through his hair. "My condolences." No one liked being spawn of Julien. It wasn't that he was a horrible person because compared to msot of them he was almost angelic. It was just......Julien. Julien who had a dozen or more kids and not one was legal. Julien who wanted to control all fo them. Julien who thought he had any right to them. "I shudder to think who your mother is. She has to be one of the either really religious nuts of the family or one of the crazies that we only see a few times a year."

"Brother? Then Antha......" Felix stopped and turned around looking back into the room. He was right the first time. Julien was his father. And she was his sister. Felix shook his head and turned back around following Nicolae again. "I knew she was lying to me."

"What is it about Julien that no one seems to like. Antha doesn't like him, for a good reason from what she told me. You don't like him. What's wrong with the man. And as for my mother, the only clue I recieved was she's one of Antha's least favored relitives."

Nicolae snorted. "He won't claim responsibility for any of us but he bosses us around. He tries to control our lives. But worse than that there's the fact that there's so damm many of us. He actually tries to make as many children as he can. He thinks he so ******** great that he needs to make a generation full of his genes."
When he came to the library he threw himself in a chair and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. "Least favorite relative eh?" he said with a cigarette clinging to his lips. He paused to light it and blow a few smoke rings. "I don't think you'd be Bianca's. We would have known about you then. She was old anyways. So I think we're looking at Mary Jane. She hates all of us. Religious zealot b***h if I ever met one."

Felix walked over to a wall and leaned against it. He was still in Nicolae's view. It's just he felt more at ease against the wall. He looked back up towards his brother. That felt a little akward for his to say. This was the first time he's had, or rather, known about an actual blood related brother. Not sure how close, but still brother's none the less. Felix needed to start correcting himself before he fouled up his speech.

"Is it normal for...... Us, I guess, to dislike many of our family. From the three names you said. You don't like two of them, from what I can tell. What makes my mother such a religious zealot b***h?" This isn't what Felix expected, but was quickly getting used to. It seems both of his parents aren't that liked. He hoped their traits didn't rub off on him.

Antha's vampire looked at her for a long time, at the blush of borrowed blood beneath her pale skin, before he said anything.
"I'm sorry."
He opened his hands, feeling the stretch and give of new skin forming. The blood on his hands was drying, cracking where it was thinnest on his palms, becoming stiff and tacky at its thickest. He wanted to touch her, but he did not want to see blood on her again.
I couldn't protect you from him.
The bottle-green of his eyes was shadowed but steady, the light within splintered like broken glass.
"I left a ward--an old one--on the ambiance of this house. I don't know whether it will keep him at bay for a little time or not. I would not care to test it overmuch."

The witch watched him carefully for a moment, as if she knew something important that he didn't. And then all at once her eyes---her entire demeanor, for what it was worth---softened as she released a little sigh and her hand closed very gently over his. "I can't recall a time when Sleet ever came to steal me and failed before. I don't think he's ever known someone at my side to frighten him enough." She laughed once, hollow though it was, at the idea of it. Sleet had run away because of fear. He had failed his mission.
"I'm sorry you had to see that," she said finally, her voice soft with regret, "Usually there's no struggle, so he feels the need only to grab me up and run off. But Felix was there this time, and Sleet wanted his blood. Running was the only way to distract him, to keep Felix safe." She went quiet for a moment as the faint ache of the healing bruises and mending flesh became sharp, more painful, and then died down to almost nothing. Then she merely gave a vague shake of her head and touched her fingers to Vikteren's cheek lightly, as if to make certain he were real. "Je regret, mon cher. I'm sorry."

Kain still stood in the door way watching every thing that had happend. Strangely the shock of what had happened was gone and he didn't feel as bothered by it as earlier. Kain then decided to walk up to get a closer look at what was going on. However he was quiet as he looked at Antha. Almost as if he was awaiting orders.
