[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

[MacPere]

MacPere's jaw dropped. This certainly wasn't the type ride he was expecting. His head cocked to one side, a hand running through his hair at the sheer disbelief of it. He had, of course, believed Gren when he had said, but... It was real.

"C-Can I touch it?" He stuttered, completely bewildered by the sight.  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Yeah, of course...I was gonna say, we're getting in, but take your time..." Smiling at the machine, Gren continued, "It's certainly not the best there is, but it works, and it's good enough for me."  

[MacPere]

"Oh my goodness..." MacPere whispered to himself, stepping to the machine and placing a hand against the cool metal. This was beyond words, he couldn't fathom anything witty and charming to say. Instead, he opted for the question posed since childhood, taking his hand off and turning to face Gren again.

"... Does this mean that aliens exist...?"  

[Gren_Eckener]

Gren raised an eyebrow. "Aliens? I...dunno. Where I'm from, we humans have colonized all the way from Venus' moons to Saturn's. I was born on Mars, so I'm actually a Martian, if that's what you mean. But in my day and age, the term's pretty broad for alien. I have yet to see any multi-eyed tentacled beasts..."  

[MacPere]

"Ah..." MacPere sighed happily. Good thing, then.

He smiled sheepishly to Gren and nodded toward the transport with an apology. "Err... We were to go inside before my distractions?"  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Yeah. I was thinking that a ride around would be nice." Gren climbed into the pilot's seat. "Find a comfy spot, and hold on, okay?" He switched in the ignitions and immediately the ship powered on with a quiet vreeeee.  

[MacPere]

MacPere quickly found a corner and held onto anything at the sounds of the engine, mumbling quiet "Oh God"s under his breath, more from giddy excitement than fear.  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Never flown before, have you? I'll be sure to take it easy." Flicking a few switches, Gren smiled back at MacPere. "Just give the word when you've had enough."

The ship lifted gently off of the ground, Gren keeping it slow. He was used to high speeds, but you should never do that to a beginner...the ship glided forward, and they began sailing over the forest.  

[MacPere]

MacPere squeaked at the ship's movement, making sure to root himself to his current corner. He trusted Gren's driving ability and this... thing would provide safety, but he'd daren't move from the spot and go hurling into something... something remotely painful.  

[Gren_Eckener]

Gren glanced momentarily back. "Hey, you can move around a little, you know. Being that still just makes me nervous...if you want down, we can stop."  

[MacPere]

"No... no... I'm just..." MacPere leaned forward and slowly rose out of his position, stumbling to the back of Gren's chair. "I've never even boarded a normal aircraft, much less a space-age one... It'll take me some time..."

He glanced up and looked out onto the scenery, righting himself slowly. "Wow... The inn's surroundings are breath-taking from here..."  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Haven't you? My...I could go slower. It's not easy to adjust..." Gren flicked a switch to his right, and the ship steadied to a degree. "That should help.."

He smiled when the scenery was mentioned. "Yeah, isn't it? It's one of the reasons I landed..." He began to take the ship over the lake, sparkling with moonlight on its waves.  

[MacPere]

"Well, I have the forest to thank for our meeting then, don't I~?" MacPere laughed uneasily and tried to relax with the ship's motion, thanking Gren calmly as the acceleration slows a little more. "Apologies if I'm ruining this trip for you at all..."  

[Gren_Eckener]

"No, you're not..." Gren slowly turned around and flew back, landing on the roof again, the ship silencing with a quiet shuuuuu. "Most people don't react half so well."

Popping open the door, he hopped out, and extended a hand for MacPere.
"Come on out, and get your bearings."  

[MacPere]

"Thank you..." MacPere took Gren's hand with gratitude and hopped down after, holding onto him and looking around for a moment. "It is still amazing to me that such a thing exists..." He laughed and shook his head, looking into Gren's eyes. "Or perhaps I am just a little old-fashioned and behind with the times."
