Angeles looked outside at the rising sun. She was aware that she had been absent from the inn for a few days, but whether or not that affected anyone was unknown to her. In any case, Angeles would not tell Zulma where she had been. But now she was really regretting having left. A piece of paper was pinned to the wall with an aspen stake through the center of it, as if it were a vampire waiting for a permanent death.
She had been called to a bounty; ten million gold. The name on the paper was all too familiar though, and Angeles knew that she was going to have a difficult time with it. She felt herself weaken as the sky lightened in the east until finally the rich golden light peaked over the horizon and flooded the world with its splendor. Now she was not much more than a human. Angeles watched the sun for a little while longer before turning around and falling forward, straight as a board.
She caught herself on her hands and imediately began to do pushups. it was something vampires normally didn't think of, as they preferred to wait for the night to give them strength, but Angeles would train her body as in its weakened state in order to become stronger while the sun was risen. Her white hair moved against her back, some falling off to the sides and over her shoulders, "twenty-seven, twenty-eight," she counted in a hushed voice. She wondered how Zulma would take having a hole the size of a clementine stabbed into her wall.

MacPere opened the inn's door with a shoulder, walking through with a large decorative box. He closed the door with a foot and proceeded forwar, to the bar, placing down the box and sighing.
Slowly, he untied the ribbon and lifted the lid, a small smile crossing his lips. Ah, it was perfect. He pulled a small note card from his coat pocket along with a fountain pen, scribbling onto its surface in calligraphic handwriting:
As celebration of another year on this earth, I have bought a cake for all to share. I do hope chocolate and strawberries are to your liking. Try to leave some for everyone else dears!
- E. MacPere
MacPere hummed happily, satisfied at his charity. "All in a day's work~" He cooed to himself, dragging a finger over the icing and bringing it up to his mouth, sucking the chocolate off.
"Now for some plates..." He walked around the bar, to the kitchen, in search for some plates.

" Of course not. She's very skilled, inteligent and righteous... we used to be friends, and you always trusted my judgement. I... just didn't know you liked her that way. She never forgave me for running away like that, did she? I'm kinda surprised you did." Ale told him "I'd like to meet the twins, Thanata told me they look a lot more like their mother than her, who takes more on her father's side. Maybe I'll stop by the High House later, if they let me in..." she stopped, as the dragon shook his head." Really? They're still mad about that? Talk about holding a grudge. But it can't be that bad, if they've accepted your children... unless it was Merina's doing." she laughed "You're right, I hardly believe they would accept mine just like that. Still, I wouldn't raise them here... " she glanced at Aris, sound asleep near them "Even with its imperfections, the outside world is beautiful, the options for your thread are almost endless..."
"You knew?" she asked, confused. "No wonder Thanata found me so easily... All this time you knew? Where I have been living? When the war began? How it ended? The aftermath? The..." she stopped there, blushing. It was very embarassing, to know that Hikari had also seen that. "I left nothing behind, precisely to avoid any of you tracking me. " she paused "I see it now, it was selfish and inconsiderate of me, and I must ask your forgiveness as well to the others. But it doesn't explain it. How could you have known?"
