Enra felt his arms tighten about her, nuzzling his head into hers.

"Laura? Can I ask you a favor?"

"Could you tell me? I feel like it'll be forever after I'm gone, and... it would be a nice parting gift..."

Tears fell freely.

"Thank you. Thank you so much... Thank... you..."

Enra turned to kiss her, slipping his mouth against her in a kiss full of all the passion he could muster.

As they held each other, a spiralling spark of something like snow rose off of his shoulder and disappeared. He wouldn't feel it, but more and more would start to rise off of him.

Shalmii woke up, quickly got dressed, and walked downstairs. She remembered back to her childhood, right before her memories became blank, the exact ritual carved into her mind. I don't care if it would save Eisiol's life... I will never submit my body as a puppet for a spirit to take over. We don't want another boss-level demon around... especially not in my body.... I remember how hurt I was when Eisiol finally got Raia out of my body... and considering that by now he's more powerful than she ever was, I might not survive...

She looked at a block of wood, a magic circle burned into it... I still need to talk to Raia to see how she is possessing such a... cute? body... and to see if we can accomplish this with Eisi~tan... that way... I don't have to be a puppet...

It still wouldn't hurt to ask for information, right? I mean... on his sheet itself it told that espers can be summoned and controlled by the possessor of magicite...

She set the crystal in the middle of the wood, two sealing jars at the ready should things get out of hand.... The crystal started responding to the circle... after all, it was Eisiol's... "Come forth, o wayward esper. Come forth, and allow me to know... Esper, come and tell me... Which ways the skies go!"

The crystal started glowing and floating in the middle of the circle. A bright beam of light fell from the sky, passing though the roof and walls harmlessly, striking the crystal and circle, activating the runes. A familiar shape started forming... a familiar voice calling back to her.... "All of them and none... They cover all this world... My younger sister~"

Enta awoke reluctantly, stomach feeling like it had been twisted into knots. He let out a slow breath. "Christmas eve..." tomorrow ge would find out if Enra would really keep his promise or not...

Shalmii smiled. "Eisiol~ I can see you~" The two smiled at each other. "Sorry... I can't stay long... I have only time for a few questions...." Shalmii, who was distracted, suddenly stopped zoning out. "Oh!~ Okay... first question... What would it take for an esper to return to this world?"

"It would take a willing body... most commonly the body of an animal, but sometimes the body of a human."

"Oookay...? What happens to your power when you possess a body?"

"My power is added to the power of the host body... and when I die again, my body would once more become magicite. It's a rather odd continuing cycle of gaining power, which is why the oldest espers are ridiculously powerful. Compared to someone like Bahamut, I'm a flea..."

That would explain why he wanted to become an esper... but why did he have to leave us? Shalmii sighed. "Okay... last question... Would you want to return to this world at any point in the near future, and what body would you want to possess if you were to do so?"

"I... have mixed feelings... It would be nice to return to this world... but... This is the first time that I have truly been at peace... It would be nice to prolong this for a few more days... But yes, I would like to return... As for the body... I would enjoy the body of a female fennic fox... if only for the rule of pun~~ and, of course, the added alliterative appeal. He started fading, small beads of white floating up from his body. "Sorry... I must leave now... But, knowing you, this is not a goodbye... but a new beginning..."

"Okay... take care... It will only be a few days..." As Fenyx faded away, a tear ran down Shalmii's smiling cheek. She picked up the crystal from the wood. "Don't worry... I will see you again..."

Shalmii stood up... This was going to be an interesting day...
