Angeles smiled, "where is D?"
She turned and stood straight, putting her hand on her chest over her heart. Stellaluna made a similar movement with his wing. Knowing that she was not getting an answer she continued, "now, with that out of the way," and here Stellaluna's voice joined hers, "our master bids you a merry Christmas, and hopes that you will forgive the lateness of his gift."
Angeles bowed, her throat tightening at her words as if they were sour at the waist and Stellaluna inclined his head, closing his eyes. When she straightened up again she smiled, her fangs exposed, "now what is your question dear heart?"

Chris walked into the room and froze at the sight of Angeles, seemingly alive and well.

Chris remained speechless for several moments, not entirely convinced he wasn't dreaming. Finally, he spoke. "Vexed is putting it mildly." He walked past Angeles and headed up the stairs to his room, reeling with conflicting emotions.

Angeles grinned, crimson eyes following Chris' back up the stairs, "Or I can wait until tomorrow," she looked back at Gren, still smiling.

Gren smiled gently. "We were told you were dead. Chris blamed himself. I found out in the middle of my first family dinner in three years, but didn't get a clear explanation until I got back. Your summon's been here for a few weeks. In short, how'd you manage to come back from your supposed watery grave? And keep in mind...that smile had better be well-earned. We've been through a lot here."

Star said with a bit irritaition "Tch Bloody.." she mumbled the rest of the sentence plus a few others then followed Cris upstairs looking for him to demand what was wrong.

A dog with a cowboy hat and an old six string trotted into the inn, making sure to wipe his paws at the door. A familliar silver orb followed him, flashing a sequence of blue pulses, as if having a conversation.
"I told you I'd check on him, Mercury." The dog answered in a thick southern accent, "But if he hasn't talked to Orion in a couple o' days, he's prob'ly not gonna wanna talk ta 'ol me." Lifting a paw, he tilted his hat to Angeles before addressing Gren, someone whom he'd seen here before. "'Scuse me, sir. Can you tell me where I can find the little Bengali?"
