Rather surprised by the sudden appearance of the book, he turned through the pages, looking at various pictures. "This is impressive." he said, though whether he meant the the book or it's contents couldn't be decided.

Closing the book and handing it back to Charlotte, Derek nodded a bit. "There are a few questions I'd like to ask, though whether you have the answers to them or not I cannot say. First, do you know if there is a source of minerals nearby?"

Derek's jaw dropped a little. Not only was there one nearby, but she offered to get him any kind he'd like. That's like someone offering you free food of any kind you like. "I don't suppose you know what kelzite is do you?"

She hummed, rummaging in her pocket. "Kelzite? That's not a common one..." Finding only feldspar, she set it on the table. "Darn." She snapped her fingers, a sample landing on the table. "I hope that's what you're after."

Albee skipped downstairs with a toy model ship with the bottom shaved out in such a fashion that it could be worn as a hat. However, the size was so big in relation to his body that it was ridiculous as he wobbled this way and that towards Charlotte and Derek.

Quickly snatching up both the feldspar and the other ore, he popped one after the other into his mouth. "Feldspar. Crunchy, kind of tangy." Chewing the second one thoughtfully, Derek eventually nodded. "Kelzite. Reminds me of home. If there is anything I can do for you, name it and it shall be done." Turning towards Albee, he let out a low chuckle. "Hello boat man."

Derek stuck out a stone hand and shook Albee's. He had learned this particular exchange after excavating a dungeon in roughly fifteen minutes. Seeing Charlotte starting to take an interest in Albee, he excused himself and went to check on a project in the basement.
