"Second, I don't like impractical women. All she seems to do is hang around and complain about her problems, and when people try to offer help, she declines it in favor of complaining more. I gave her a chibi to feed on so that she wouldn't starve. She didn't accept it, but nearly passes out and starts eating you? I care about you, Howard, and it's your happiness that matters here. But I don't think it's healthy to date anyone who actively siphons your soul. You can't get that stuff back."
She glared at Xei. "Before you start misquoting me, I suggest you get a little more situational awareness. You could have talked to me about it, but obviously the slings and arrows of a grumpy teenage girl are just too much for you."
"Then how could they know how personal it was? Sounds like it made it all the worse..."

Howard nodded as he heard each bit, some of it disheartening him. He knew he was getting into a situation with a siren, but... for it to go this far...
"I think I see now... But please, Charlotte. Some gentleness when it comes to wording. I'm sure she didn't mean it all quite that way.

"Actually, I didn't take from his soul, and I tried that little creature, it's essence made me sick, and I only ask for help when I really need it, other wise I stick to myself, the white outfit was for the Circus, I sometimes work with the traveling to help entertain crowds." She breathed lightly, "And no, I didn't talk to you because your remind to much of my daughter." She turned her head away some, the words hurt slightly, being a social creature wasn't something she knew much about, and being what she was, her views on different things aren't like others. But se wasn't going to be sorry for being different.

"The 'soul sucker' thing was a joke. Nobody cares what anyone's diet is around here; everyone has to eat. As for the rest of it, I don't do kid gloves in honesty." she sighed, waving a hand. "Just quit starving yourself, huh? It makes your aura annoying. And take it upstairs or something when you're getting all mushy; watching your boyfriend's dad making the moves is just awkward, y'dig?"
At the daughter comment, she stuck out her tongue. "I can't very well help that."
Gren held up his mug. "Still, here's to hopeless romantics, huh? For keeping the dream alive at great personal sacrifice."

Xei peers back towards Howard, "I didn't know I was with child till after he died...But yes." She rests her hands in her lap. "I haven't seen her for awhile, she's more of a siren than I am, she likes that side. She stays with my sisters."

He clinked his water agains the mug and drank deep.
Howard held her arm softly.
"I'm sorry... Do you miss her?"
Hearing Charlotte's complaint, he grinned at her and stuck out a tongue while pulling down the lower lid of an eye.

Gren blushed, sipping his tea a bit. "Yes, you certainly can...waking up to the bedroom full of flowers, breakfast in bed, massages...the honeymoon never really ended, and never needs to, if you ask me."
