"Certainly," Sosol answered, setting down two mugs and letting them fill. That calm grin was on his face, but it was clearly cracked. It would still be a bit more time before he was ready to face any of that again.
"A calico...like little Fritz," Kristen decided with a joyful nod, though it faded as she looked to Sosol. She quelled that almost automatic surge of anger at seeing him in that condition...she'd talk to Azana later. Whoever hurt him would pay.
Azana nodded to Gren, putting her hand on Sosol's at earliest convenience. It was frustrating, seeing him like this and not being able to be much help...then again, her missions last month probably had a similar effect on him.

He noticed her gaze and linked it to Sosol. He frowned slightly.

"...sorry," Sosol apologized at last, letting it fade to something a little more accurate.
"I believe it has to do with their investigation yesterday," Kristen answered Laimu, speaking quietly. "The trouble with people like us...many times, we see things we really wish we had not."
"...how many?" Azana asked, holding onto him. If he was checking missing persons, he was looking to match names with faces.
"...five...maybe six, but that one was blurry," he answered. "Even if they're found, I doubt they'll be identified..."

"He would like that, I am certain," Kristen grinned, looking back to Laimu. "We can make it black, like Azana's Moonbeam..."
"Sounds like they've been busy over the years...I've got Tyler doing watchdog duty on that address they gave me," Azana said, leaning on tiptoe for a kiss. "This will be stopped."
"I know...I just shouldn't have been that open," Sosol said, sipping on his own drink. "Just being in that house made my skin crawl..."
"You couldn't have predicted they'd be so friendly with us...don't blame yourself. We might be able to help their families find peace once all is said and done, right?"
"...yeah. I just...need another night to get through all of it."

"I know we will, Chris, but that doesn't change what's been done already," Sosol answered him, a nerve being touched with that. He took a breath, though, and refrained from letting his frazzled state get the best of him.
Almost on cue, Moonbeam trotted downstairs, letting out a meow to announce her royal presence. She looked around her gaze settling on the harlequin pattern of Laimu's pants. "Mrow."
Kristen chuckled at the cat, nudging Laimu. "Your model is here."
