I would like to know if it is possible to check if a certist is still able to cert with due certainty. I won a pet in the Black Friday Flaffle, colored by Yumitoko, and now that the certing thread is closed I just want to make sure that it hasn't been forgotten about. (along with other outstanding requests)
The requests were "assigned" to a certist but were not truly claimed (as seen in this thread ie: "Ara take" or "Ryuu claimed") we just had the word of the colorist that they would be the one certing the pets. I'm just unsure with the "assigned certist's" sig status if things are able to be certed/uploaded.

Hello, Kettyn! First off, we do apologize for the worry!
Checking a staff member's status (including whether certing threads are closed and, if so, where responsibility will be transferred to) is largely internal, as it falls under the oversight of the managers and the available certists at the time. We know that the shop has a lot of staff and it may take a while to notice someone who goes MIA--so from the customer end, we have steps outlined here describing how to proceed for outstanding requests, and alternate steps here for cases where the outstanding request had been claimed by a general certist already (I realized it may have been unclear, so I edited the wording--but it's the "Missed Request" form). If we notice multiple posts for the same thread or section, it serves as an additional notification that someone may have fallen through the cracks, and we're able to take it directly to management.
Both steps require a wait time of at least three months to account for the maximum time a certist is allotted to take care of requests, as well as the time for it to be handled internally, so multiple users don't have to repost using the "Outstanding Requests" form if we may have noticed it already.
Re: Black Friday certs specifically, that had been transferred a few days ago, and I was able to finish them tonight. The completed drop is here.
Re: Other certing threads, "assigned" can be taken to mean the same thing as "claimed;" we only make claims in the general thread to ensure we don't overlap, but requests in other threads can be divvied without issue (e.g. by assigning one certist per thread).
Apologies again for the worry, and thank you for your patience! (Thank you for reading all that as well, haha; the two procedures are still a little recent so I love talking about them whenever I can... cries.) I hope that clears things up!
