"I have every intention of making Crystal happy tonight. But I still have all day and the reservations aren't until 8. No reason I can't fight the good fight and then take my lady love out to a romantic evening. Besides, shouldn't you be planning a special date with a certain hacker?"
Nate burst out of the kitchen with his feathers slicked back and a bouquet of roses in his wing. He looked over to his friends and gave them a wink before strutting out the front door, whistling a cheery tune.
Chris simply stared after the firebird, a puzzled expression on his otherwise determined visage.

Chris went to the bar and grabbed a bottle. Experience had prepared him for many things, but not for the sight of a smitten firebird. In times like these, he found it best to have a drink and not ask questions.

Floating into the inn with an airy smile, Laura spotted Chris, stepped forward and held out a card with a heart-shaped owl on the front. "Happy Valentine's..." She cooed in a friendly manner.

"N-No... not anymore..." She sighed, smile faltering momentarily. Spinning on a heel, she pulled a smile for Remy, nodding her thanks. "Aw, thank you Remy! Here!" She thrust forward a card.

Chris felt sad for Laura. She always seemed like a lovely woman and she didn't have anyone to spend Valentine's Day with. It made him realize how lucky he was to have Crystal, in spite of the problems they'd been having lately.
Still, he wished he could do something for Laura. After all, here she was spreading love throughout the Inn's patrons. She deserved some love in return.
