Gren's brow crinkled in mild concern. "Oh, I meant to tell her for you. The second seems like a really awful thing to do..."

Feeling that he was being hugged from behind, his eyes lit up slightly as he was snuggled. "And good evening to you..." He turned his head in an attempt to nuzzle back.

Zefi watched her sister pack and just sat there on the bed un-able to believe this was actually happening. They were going to go search for her parents. But first they had to find Kageko... she wasn't at her house yet... No that wasn't right she actually might be there Zefi muttered. "What did you say? Speak up!" Zrenni pretend shouted which was more of a loud voice but quiet still. Odd... Zefi looked up and shook her head as a never mind and decided Kageko probably went to the Plains. Her sister stood up and handed her a smaller backpack. "Time to go then?" Zrenni asked her and Zefi nodded. They were going to go and hopefully come back. They headed down stairs and Zefi looked behind her almost shocked. She was a lot taller than she had been before. Nobody grew a hole foot of length in one night... unless... maybe she had started her growth spurt. Sure enough she reached her finger into her mouth and felt her teeth in the back. They were almost normal size but still sharp... That meant... wow she thought as she continued down the stairs she would be as tall as most of them no longer having to tippy toe to see what was going on. By the time she came back chances were she would be the same height as mot of them. She reached the bottom of the stairs and looked around. Zefi waved good by to gren and Angeles. "Well good bye you guys. See you later then!" She said cheerfully and walked out of the Inn.

"Take care, Zefi!" he said with a wave.

Hmm, thought Gren, smiling after the kiss. Her companions are here...they come when she calls them, and it must be due to how uncomfortable this is...

"Let me ask you, why not tell her? She's going to be more upset with not being told than she will with the truth, you know."

"Hm? Oh..." MacPere drummed his fingers against the bar's counter whilst waiting for the water to boil, attempting to shrug it off casually. "Other than almost become one of those blood cakes, I had no choice but to kill her. Either that or... No MacPere would stand today."

He murmured something to himself and adjusted his scarf tighter, taking up the boiled kettle and pouring the water into a tea pot.

(Oh man, the lags...)

"I've only met a few, so that's not saying too much...Still, how long has she known you? What did you two do together, that you'd be the first called to the medic room when she woke up? Don't think things like that aren't a sign of something."

At the subject change, he wondered what blood cake tasted like, anyway. And was more curious than ever about the scarf.

"That in itself is simple my friend," said Angeles, "I gave a message to Kageko to deliver to Zulma so that she would not go looking for me. Kageko failed to deliver the message and Zulma came looking for me. She arrived at the residence of my mark and was attacked by many vampires, she got injured, Kageko arrived and pulled the same trick she had on the night I attacked you both, except she transported me to another dimension so that I would not be hurt.

"All Zulma saw was that all of the vampires were burned and I was suddenly no where to be seen. She thought I was dead, i was called into the room to show that I was not."

Angeles looked over at MacPere, "are you sure my friend. You seem worried about something, and I fear what might be underneath the scarf...." she begged that Gren would take the bait.

MacPere stared back, gaze steely and unnerving with a matching, slightly cold and bitter tone. "I. Am. Fine. Do not concern yourself."
