"That's true," Dmitri added.
"What do you mean?" Phoenix asked. She had never been given anything this wonderful.

Phoenix sighs and leans against him. She pressed her lips to his neck and nipped lightly. She was still a Vampire after all. Neck were her things. Though she like anywhere with a strong pulse. She pressed her body against him and nipped harder.
Dmitri caught her before she fell from Dreito's high back. He pulled her onto his lap and wished he had mental abilities to discover what was wrong. Anything that hurt her, hurt him more. "Dreito," he called. "Please."
Dreito didn't like going into anyone's mind without permission and flinched at doing it now. With all the gentleness he could muster, he slipped lightly into her mind.

*Her mind was full of pain and chaos. Images of her people being slaughtered and tortured to the point of begging for death. Of them crying out for her.**Her nose was starting to bleed and silverish gold tears roll down her cheeks*

"Dreito?!" Dmitri called. The smell of her blood was tempting but he could never hurt her so he ignored it. "What's wrong?! What's happening?!"
Dreito moaned. "Their pain..." he whispered. Dmitri almost couldn't hear him. "Their pain is so great and they are all focusing of her. Their pain is becoming her destruction. I am trying to get them to focus on me. I am stronger than she. I can take it. Her young body can't. It's killing her."

*The angels felt him and panic more.They feared dragons more then any did because of the past.*
*She reached out to them weakly.* Trust.......he is....friend.....we.....coming*She couldn't speak all the words since she was so weak.They heard and knew*
*They slowly reach for him cause they felt their ladies pain it was a thousand times worse than what they felt *

Dreito flinched as their pain crashed over him like a wave. He shook his head and doubled the strength in his wings. "We will save them," he said.

*She didn't wake, but her mind was calmer now and started to heal*

Dmitri sighed and used his shirt to wipe away the blood.
"I'm amazed by your restrant," Dreito commented. He heard Dmitri grunt in responce.

*She turns towards him as if seeking his protections and knowing he was still their with her*

Dmitri ran his hand down her cheek as she moved closer and whispered to her so Dreito couldn't hear. "I will always protect you," he whispered. "I will never allow anything to hurt you, even myself."
