Jeff turned a puzzled look at Charlotte.
"I'm not scared." he answered, his voice sounding more like a boy than a man.
That girl somewhat was irritating him. After being alone for so long, he had forgotten how to be around people.

Sosol walked downstairs, looking rather refreshed but not quite his usual self. He wasn't sure at this point whether Azana was just sleeping in or if she remained unresponsive. Yeah, she warned that it drained her, but he never figured it would be to this extent.
"Hi, Charlotte," he greeted, waving to the two. "Hi, Jeff."

Now Jeff felt back for having been so harsh...yet she was getting on his nerves and he did not know what to respond to her.
Sosol arrived just in time.
"Hello Sosol." he said politely.

"It's nice to see you guys so cheerful," Sosol said, smiling at them. "How are things down here?"
The door to the Inn opened, and in walked a tall, scrawny young man with sandy hair and bright green eyes full of ideas. "Hello~, Inn! It's been way too long!"
"James...a little late this time, aren't you?"
"Sorry, man...had a project I just couldn't leave alone!" He said, walking in before wavering a little and taking a seat. "Eheh...speaking of which..."

Jeff sighed. He was not cheerful and he did not want to be. What was with all this giggling anyway?!
He waved at James, whom he had never met and went back to his book, reading further on curses and demons.

"Coming right up," Sosol sighed, slipping into the kitchen and shaking his head in amusement. "So, how long as it been since your last real meal, James?"
"...I'm working on game-changing research and development and you want me to remember a detail like my caloric intake?" James asked, trying to cover up the fact that he entirely forgot. "Hey, Charlotte! Keeping things interesting around here?"
"Should've known," Sosol walked out a moment later with a soda and some leftovers from Enta's feast. "Got a question for you...that bracer of Remy's..."
"Max designed the casing, but everything in there's all mine," James beamed, his stomach growling as the scent of food wafted to him. "Turning day to night and night to day...damn, I'm good."
"...are there side effects?"
"...what? No! Perfectly safe. Why?" James tilted his head. "Something go wrong?"
"...I don't know. Anyway, enjoy." Sosol set it down, humming in thought. "Reading a bit more on our recently dispatched demoness?" He asked Jeff, eager for a subject change.

Nibbling his lip nervously, Remy peeked into his room to see if the fabulous vampire was still in there.
"Of course! I have hardly a choice." she smiled, waving dismissively.

Jeff raised his eyes from his book and looked at Sosol.
He looked around to see if Violet was here, once he was sure she was not, he nodded and spoke darkly.
"Yes and I am not liking what I find..."

"Speaking from an eyewitness account, it's not exactly pretty," Sosol answered him.
James wolfed down the rather large portion, chugging the soda. "That's better! So, yeah...how's life 'round here?"

"Neither was I...though how quickly she turned from casual to downright vicious was unsettling." Sosol shook his head, trying to push the memory away. "You don't have to spend all day on it, though..."
"Hey, Sol...where's Az? She usually meets me after these things." James looked around.
"Upstairs...she hasn't recovered yet," he answered, trying to avoid the details. No need to get him worked up, too. Stella was already pacing holes in the floor.
