Gren smiled. "No way to know until you ask...and if so, everyone can come back and see you anyhow. Give her a call...I bet she's been worried." he said, speaking from experience.
"Honestly, if there's ever been anything for me to get 'too serious' about, I'd call the apocalypse it." he smiled wryly. "But, I bet you'll keep me from getting too, you know...stodgy."

Sosol was taking inventory of the pantry and the like, finding a rather odd shortage of grains considering the lack of dishes. Nate didn't seem the sort...maybe Laimu's odd bird companion...either way, it was likely better not to ask. He just added it to the list and continued on.
Tyler chuckled to himself in his room, sketching down basic blueprints for his next project...it had been a while since he felt so inspired, but then again, he had been alone up until last year or so.

"There's a bizarre drop in grain this week, and it must've happened in the past two or three days. The thing is, it doesn't look like they even bothered to cook or process it at all...and I don't know terribly many things around here that would enjoy that besides birds and chibis." Sosol explained, humming in thought.

"Fair point, but I still don't think they'd go for such low-tone stuff when they can get better. They aren't desperate, after all." she hummed, opening a pocket. "Out, chibis! Chibi flood!"
A swarm of the tiny squeaking beasts gushed from her pocket and milled about at her ankles. Once all were out, she waved a hand, and they lined up. "Piibii!" they cheeped.
"You guys raid the kitchen for grain?"
"Priifiina."
"Chibichi!"
"Pii biibiichii."
She looked to Sosol. "Not them..."
Emi raised his 'hand'. "Chiibii! Piichichi."
"Two...women? Were in there the other night."
"Pii."
"Three, sorry. Three women ate it. He didn't know them at all. One had a large hammer, so he hid in a teacup. Avoid the one with the apple on it, he spilled something there." She grinned. "That help at all?"

"A hammer...? Oh! Fenyx's sister...Shalmii, that's the name." Sosol grinned. "Thanks...I've never really been one to question their strange tastes, but to have as much as they did, they must have been terribly hungry. At least I know we don't have mice or anything."
"Mrow!" Moonbeam seemed to answer, poking her head up from her place on a shelf. Of course there wouldn't be mice...

Azana yawned, strolling downstairs just as her husband walked in the front door with the usual grocery load. "Three days," she said with a sigh.
"Until wha--oh, yeah..." Sosol nodded, walking past to the kitchen. "Try not to do something so scary this year, alright? You actually had me worried."
"Depends on the workload...I might not have time to do anything at all with all those pranks gone wrong."

"Only amongst themselves...some groups try to out-prank each other every year, and after a certain point, we have to come in to clean up the mess," she explained, "and yeah, nothing lethal...well, usually. That summon last year kind of pushed it."
"Thus why I want to come along this year," Sosol said. "Honestly, haven't we passed some sort of ordinance about this stuff?"
"Yes, but that doesn't mean things can't get out of hand...some cocky mage thinks he can handle what he's doing, and then bam! Instant disaster."
