"Best breakfast! Spicee~!" she giggled.

"Hey, Kristen! Glad you folks got out all right...was it cool in there?"
he said, smirking at the comment. "Hard to say...but the place tends to get them; much obliged."

Albee brightened considerably to see Charlotte downstairs once more, walking over to her and waving.

"Charlotte!"

Howard had watched the chili as it was cooked, standing quietly in the corner an nodding through when Stella and Sol responded to his entrance. Once they were out, he stayed in the kitchen, cleaning up some extra dishes.

Laimu, who had been sitting quietly and rolling his materia about, lit at the at the sign of the fire-wielding agent. He jumped up from where he was sitting and went over to Kristen with open arms.

"Hey!"

She waved from her perch. "Hello! I see you've decided to come back within a week. How are you, better?"

Sosol gave a mildly embarrassed chuckle. Yeah, he was married, but it was rare to hear someone call him cute aside from Az. "Stick around...more seem to drop by," he laughed, sending her a drink.

"It was like three or four fairy tales fused together, with all sorts of mental projections," Kristen answered, glancing down to the singed spot on the floor. "Did Azana zap someone again...?"

"It's almost ready!" Stella's voice called from the kitchen, though she wasn't entirely sure. All the preparations had been made, and the chili was very warm.

Albee managed his old grin, trying to remember what it looked like.

"Heck yeah! Kinda got the world's worst hangover, but besides that I'm doin' pretty spiffeh!"

"Laimu!" Kristen smiled, greeting him with a hug. "Goodness, I hope you have not been waiting for me..."

Sosol nodded, though he couldn't help but wonder when to tell her the two "cute guys" she had talked to were both married...there were still singles about, though.

Leave the matchmaking to Eli, though...he knows what he's doing.

Stella walked out with dishes and fixings in multiple trips, knowing Howard had taken charge of the chili itself...it'd be out shortly.

She raised an eyebrow. "Then maybe you'd like to elucidate on what exactly was the problem instead of not saying anything about it, telling me not to say anything, and vanishing into thin air after several long absences? Because that's totally what girls love, ambiguity."

Gren chuckled, smirking to himself. "Of course, your luck's not great anyhow...I'm gay and married; only thing missing is being a priest."

Albee sighed, stomping his foot and appearing next to her in a puff of smoke.

"Here's the dealio... Remember that time when we went walking in the forest and you asked me how much I remembered from my five thousand years, right? The truth is, I can remember every single thing from the day I was first summoned from my home and made to exist here in this dimension. But having to contain that much memory causes massive amounts of pain, the type that would make an elephant poop his pants if he had any. So, I ended up finding a way to lessen the pain, by making my body change from child to teenager to adult every now and then. This tricks my being into believing that I'm living several different lives rather than being in one. It's like, ah... Like I took my selves from when I was twelve, one hundred, twelve hundred and fifty two and so on and so forth and spread them out across myself. Think of it a loaf's worth of bread to accomodate a biiiiig jar of peanut butter. But the thing is, my other bread slices got moldy, nasty, and just dissipated. Usually I can take a little more memory, but right now, I've lost all of my other loaves. I'm putting a BIIIIIG sloppy piece of jelly on one slice of bread, and it's making that slice all wet and weak and about to break. I'm that slice. And that's my situation."

He took a breath, then continued.

And finally... I'm sorry. I didn't tell all of you this before because I figured I had enough time to fix it, but I didn't. But even then, I still wasn't fair to you, and i'm sorry for that.

And, um... ah...

That's all I can think of."

He sat there, scratching his white mop, visibly dumb for what to say next.

"Indeed, what a time! And don't worry, I haven't been waiting too long.

He wrapped his long arms around, her so ecstatic that he managed to lift her high off the floor in a hug.

"So happy to see you again!"

"Oh. Well, why didn't you say so? Goofball, either you'll forget stuff, it'll compact, or you'll go insane. Or, better yet give of on the physicality aspect and let some of it out into the collective consciousness and relieve some pressure. Someone gets a wild dream when it passes by, recall at any time." she sighed, waving a hand and pouting. "Why keep it all in? It's not like it'll go anywhere once it's out."

Kristen giggled as she was lifted, the statue of her in flight flashing in her mind. This was the only flying she'd be doing any time soon...but she still enjoyed it. "It was a crazy journey...and while I enjoyed myself, I am happy to be home again."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 9:46 pm

"Yeah, but..."

He went through parts of his life.

"Even if some of it's kinda painful... I like remembering."

"And I'm happy you're home!"

He set her down, still grinning widely.

"Oh, guess what? I finally got set up with a materia!"

"CHILLEH TIME!"

His waiter talents exploded as he sped out, the red-haired blur moving about as he placed bowls of Sol's finished chili everywhere in front of everyone, finishing by placing the refill bowl on the counter.

"Ha-cha~~"

He was a cook again! ...Or at least a waiter again.

"You wouldn't forget-it-foerever forget. You just wouldn't think of it all at once. Like how that guy there hasn't forgotten his parents but isn't thinking of them." she said, pointing at Sosol.

"Thank you, Howard."
smiled Gren, serenely eating.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 9:56 pm

Albee looked a little baffled.

"You think it's okay to not think about your parents?"

Howard grinned, thumbing up.

"No prob! But I was just the waiter today, the cookin's Sol's Man makes a meeeean chili."

"Not all the time. Nobody thinks of everything in their head all at once; they'd freeze up and never function at all due to overload and get killed in a flat minute. It's an evolutionary advantage to be able to discern what needs actual attention at the moment." she explained, as if it were a passe fashion.

'Interesting spices." he hummed, sampling some.
