Violet, after a meal and a nap, was feeling considerably better but still a bit disoriented. Orrin had asked her so many questions, most of which she couldn't answer. She walked downstairs, now bored since Orrin refused to return her supplies until he knew she was well. The new face caused her to hesitate, an old habit that was still clinging to life.
"...elf," she muttered quietly, taking note of the ears as she slid into a seat at a table. Her kingdom for a pencil and some paper...

Aravilui's tone was very deliberate, and rather frustrated when he answered. "HOME. My captain managed to talk the King into making me a messenger, and I spent the past few months in... Rivendell. Yeah, that the English word. I was just trying to go home, and I apparently made a wrong turn in the mountains or something."
He shook his head slowly. "Why they thought it was a good idea to send the one who had never been in the mountains before home on their own, I do not know."

Gren shrugged. "I wouldn't say you're lost at all...you know you're in an Inn, there are towns nearby...it's an adventure." he said calmly. "I wound up here largely the same way...I'm not regretting it."

Ueki made a face, seeing he'd touched a nerve. Or rather, perhaps, touching at all even verbally was a mistake. Silence would suit him better here.

Aravilui blinked, then flushed. "I am sorry, I did not mean to sound irritated. It is just... I was out in the rain for hours, and I've been lost for nearly a week. And I just got lost like this like, two months ago. Though, the Inn I ended up at that time was much more ominous and my friend and I were the only people there other than the keeper. I am hoping this trip does not turn out as that one did."
He shuddered in memory, closing his eyes. "It takes a lot for my people to feel cold, but my teeth were chattering by the time I saw this place. So I am rather displeased at those who were supposed to be traveling with me that decided I could catch up when they left early, but I am certainly not irritated at you."
He glanced at the girl who had come down just after his story, curiously. She seemed as quiet as he normally was. A small part of him was still convinced there had been something in the tea.

Gren poured a fresh round of tea, including a cup for Violet. "Violet, care to join us? Aravilui is a nice chap...and you look like you need a cuppa."

Violet looked to Gren, nodding silently as she moved to join them. "Ara..." She tried to wrap herself around the name, not used to something so exotic. "...hello..." The first long sip of tea helped to ease some of her anxiety, and the embarrassment of not being able to say even the new person's name.

Aravilui smiled. "Ar- ah- vee- lu-ee," he said, tilting his head to the side. "I hope that is more easily pronounced than my other name, Finnelvalthen. That one is a mouthful even for Elves. Though, I have gotten used to just Ara, if that's easier."
Aravilui sighed, putting a hand over his eyes for a moment. "...I am not used to this, is all. I mean, I only left my forest because I was forced to. Direct orders given in person by your King are not to be ignored, after all. Getting lost was not in the plan, though. Twice. This place is much better than the last place I was though, so at least something pleasant has come of getting lost this time."
He stopped, shaking his head. "Are you sure there was only tea in my cup?" He looked at it suspiciously again.

"I'm drinking the same thing." he gently reminded Ara, sipping his tea. "But, at least you're in good company, eh? Until you find your way, feel free to stay. There's plenty of room..." he offered, giving Violet a sideways look of mild concern.

Aravilui wrinkled his nose. "Yeah. Mph."
Then he smiled, "Yes, I am. Actually, I am a little tired. If I could get directions to an empty room perhaps..?" he asked hesitantly.
Then Ueki spoke and he glanced at him. "I begin to think that might be the case for me as well, though at least you have heard of my home. It means it might be possible to find my way home, when I wish to try again."

"Ar-a-vee-lu-ee," Violet echoed between sips. "Ara-vee-louie...Aravilui." The last came with a satisfied nod...it was close enough. She could feel Gren's eyes on her, and she hid behind another long sip of tea. Was she supposed to make conversation? And about what? She didn't want to worry them with that latest bout of compulsive drawings...she hadn't even seen how they turned out, in Orrin's proactive concern for her well-being.
In the end, she chose to agree with Ara. "This place is much better..."

She looked to him, weighing the idea for a moment before speaking it. "...my supplies returned. Orrin confiscated them..." It sounded so bad out of context, but that was what happened in a nutshell.
