It was going to be another one of those restless nights again. She could feel it. It wasn't like she wasn't used to it by now. Staying up for roughly twenty-four hours a day with little sleep? Ha! That was a breeze. Others think that way too. Sure someone could stay up an entire day without sleep. What's one day going to do? Well, they end up crashing some time during the next day to catch up on the lack of sleep they had. Her? She could go four, five days without sleep and function properly. Though she does try and rest some by shutting her eyes and trying to relax. There have been moments where during that time of trying to relax is when she falls asleep. That's when the nightmares begin. The nightmares plague her mind until she forces herself to wake up, ready to strike. That isn't to say, however, that her body gives out to the exhaustion. When that happens, don't bother trying to wake her up. It's like she went into a mini-coma and won't wake up until she's fully recharged. Her recharging day was two days ago, and Bindi was now out wandering the streets of the city. The sun had just set. The light of the day was fading fast and the only light left was the lights shining through the windows of the homes and businesses she was passing. She always kept her pistol with her. Not to use as protection unless needed to, but more for the flashlight attachment that was on it. She feared both the dark and the night. Both were seemingly two of the same things, but to her they were different.
Bindi heard guns being popped off from the top of the wall that surrounded the Metro. It was one of the cities defenses to keep the dead out and the living inside and safe. Some what safe anyways. These were all part of normal life now. No one panicked hearing the gunfire. That was until the alarms started going off. The alarms going off certainly wasn't a good sign. The warning lights that were spread throughout the city were starting to flash too. Another sure sign that there was trouble. There was a possible breach on the wall. Any and all people who haven't taken a turn defending the wall needed to join up on top to help. Ironically enough she hadn't taken patrol on the wall for a week now, and she was headed in that direction. With her gun loaded and ready, she takes off. Families scrambled together into their homes, picking up their children and holding them tightly to their person as they ran. Everyone had every right to be afraid. A complete breach hasn't happened as of yet, but the fear of one happening was always there. Hidden away in the back of everyone's mind. In the midst of the scramble, a young child had been left behind by his father. She looked to be the age of either five or six years old. The girl stood there crying as people ran right past her. "Daddy! Daddy!" The girl cries, but alas no one comes to claim her. Bindi stopped in mid run after hearing the girls voice. She needed to be safe inside. Even if it was with different people. Those on the wall could handle themselves without her. She'd take her turn patrolling later. The woman turns back and scoops the girl up into her arms and ducks into one of the bars. She was the last person to be let inside as the doors and windows were locked up shut. Everyone waits with baited breath, listening as the alarm kept sounding and the sounds of gunshots echoing right after.
The young girl cried into Bindi's shoulder. Crying out for her daddy. "Hush now little one. We'll find your daddy once the alarm stops, okay?" She didn't know how to calm a child who was crying out for her parents. Except to just hold her and pat her back, telling her that it was okay. Her brown eyes glance around the room, seeing the worried and concerned faces of those hiding inside the establishment. She hoped that this little girls family was inside here, but she doubted they were. It wasn't long till the alarms finally stopped and the all clear was given. Doors and windows were unlocked and mostly everyone begins to leave. Bindi leaves as well, keeping a hold of the child and looking around the outside. So far there seemed to be no sign of the girls family. No one was calling out any names. People seemed to just walk past to go back to their normal routine. "I want my daddy." the girl sniffs. Her tiny arms were wrapped around her neck as the two looked amongst the crowd. "We'll find him. Don't worry." Bindi gives the small girl a smile in hopes to lift her spirits. She didn't know who most people were in the Metro. She had only been living there for almost a year and she still didn't know many people. Her keeping her distance didn't help that knowledge either. If there was anyone who has lived in the Metro for a while now and knew the families taking shelter here, she would greatly appreciate them coming up and helping her find this child's father.

~The Rogue Experiment~
As sanity leaves my consciousness........
Minutes after the alarm had sounded, it would fall silent. That would mean either one of two things: a false alarm or the threat had been stopped. Either way, a relief could be felt throughout the large city. Even as darkness started to take over, they at least knew that the streets would be safe once again thanks to the soldiers and the effort of their leader. Things would soon start to go to normal, people gathering both their things and composure. Of course, there would be one man running about, yelling out for his daughter. He sounded frantic, unsure of where she could have ran off to. His voice would make any one's heart drop to their stomach in pity and sadness for his loss. At least for now anyways.
Meanwhile, while everyone started to get things back together again, a new face would appear. From out of the alleyway, a dark haired man would round the corner. He was dressed in fine clothing as if he were ready for a special occasion. For the most part anyways, rips and tears somewhat seen throughout his outfit. His scarlet eyes scanned the area as he started walking down the streets casually. He took in the sites and the people, starting to feel a familiar feeling that he hasn't felt in a very long time: security. He had finally found a place where he could relax, he being among the undead for almost a year now. He carried nothing with him, not even a weapon.
But of course, the strangest thing was that he appeared out of nowhere right after the alarm went off. Where did he come from? Why was he here? Was he the reason that everyone went into a panic? He didn't look dangerous at least. With his hands in his pockets and a faded smile across his face, he actually looked fairly friendly instead........

She takes a few steps away from the bar, craning her neck to look over the crowd of people in front of her. There were no shouts that she could hear. No panicked looks amongst those who she could see. Maybe this girls family was deeper in the city. That's why she couldn't hear anyone calling. She would have heard at least something echoing off of the buildings though, right? The young child too was looking around. "Can I sit on your shoulders?" She suddenly asks. Bindi nods her head. If sitting on her shoulders would make her happy, then she'd let her. "Sure little one. Get ready." The woman puts her hands under the girls arms and lifts her up over her head and gently onto her shoulders. She holds onto the girls legs to make sure she didn't fall backwards. "Hold on tight. That way you don't fall." "Hehe. Okay!" At least she wasn't crying anymore. That was a good thing. Bindi had been steadily moving along the street, moving away from the bar where she had taken shelter in.
As she walked, she took notice of something off in the distance. There was a man who was coming from an alleyway. He wore what looked like fancy clothing, but had been worn a lot. The color in the clothes he wore were faded, and yet they still looked good. His dark hair partially covered one side of his face. He wore a gentle smile as he came closer towards them. He was friendly looking, and someone who could potentially help aide her in her search of the girls family. With a sigh of relief, Bindi makes her way towards him. As she gets closer, she notices the color of his eyes. They weren't a normal eye color a person would have. They were red. It was definitely strange to see, but that wasn't her concern. This young girl was her main priority for the time being. "Hi there. I don't mean to bother you, but you look like someone who can help me. When the alarms went off, I found this little girl all alone on my way to assist on the wall. Her parents were no where in sight, so I took her with me so she wouldn't get either trampled over or even more lost. Would you happen to know who she is or her parents?"

As sanity leaves my consciousness........
The young man would come to a halt when he noticed a girl start to approach him. Seeing a child on her shoulders only confused him a little. However, it would suddenly click in his mind, he recalling what happens during a siren warning. Pure chaos if he recalled correctly. His thoughts were confirmed when the young lady asked him for assistance. His friendly smile stayed across his face as he answered, his crimson eyes going up to the little one. "Oh, well that IS quite the problem, isn't it? I'm sorry, but I suppose we haven't met so I don't know what your parents may look like. However, there was a man yelling out for someone. What is your name, hon?" His attention stayed on the scared, little girl as he waited for an answer. He was familiar with this feeling, he going through it before as a child. He figured a kind touch to the delicate situation could help keep her in a good mood.
