Hello, I just joined. I am not fluent at all in Japanese! I've been learning Hiragana from a site called Coscom... anyone know if it's any good?

I'm 15, so I can't take any classes on Japanese language nearby. They're all for college students. So, I've been teaching myself Japanese. I just started out learning it because I wanted to learn a new language (And figure out what in the world they were really saying in Clannad!), but now I'm maybe going to play the extended Japanese - only version of Animal Crossing. I honestly don't know what else to do, since I can't visit Japan, at least not yet, though I'd love to.

I used to want to learn Japanese when I was in middle school, but my mom always shot me down. I'm 20 now and still determined to learn it. I've already got hiragana down, and am about half way through learning katakana. I've been reading texts on the grammar structures, and I have a starter workbook on kanji that I'm going to start with after I've finished with the katakana.

I've got a long way to go, but I want to be at least to the level of being able to read a normal Japanese novel before I start a four year Japanese language and culture degree in a year or two. heart

Hello there! My avatar's name is Yoshifuku, which is also my last name. I am half Japanese and half German. I can read all Hiragana and Katakana. I'm working on Kanji with my Japanese teacher.
