"You guys ordered pizza? Awesome! I love pizza!" Debra exclaimed in delight as she helped Sofia with the food. As soon as Sofia had returned with the plates and cups, Debra helped herself to a slice from each pizza box, a couple buffalo wings, and a bread stick. Next she filled her cup to the brim with the Mountain Dew. Her grandmother frowned on caffeinated beverages, but her grandmother wasn't there, and it wasn't like she was getting drunk. After Sofia had returned from talking on the phone, she jokingly asked, "Hey, by chance would you guys be interested in adopting a sixteen-year-old orphan? I'm house-broken! Honestly, I am!"

"Ah... we'll get back to you on that,!" Alex said in return. That was an interesting suggestion, which indicated how much Debra loved to be there, but he could tell that she wasn't serious. At least he hoped that she wasn't serious, because it would be awkward if they actually tried to do that. Who ever heard of a pair of teenagers adopting another teenager, even if the pair were married to each other? Changing the subject, Alex asked Sofia, "Who was on the phone?" Even though Sofia had been talking quietly enough for the conversation to be a private one, Alex didn't see anything wrong with asking that. Mainly he was curious because no one usually called Sofia.

Sofia looked at Debra and chuckled, "Well we would be a very awkward family with two teenagers having a teenage daughter...a bit odd." She basically said what Alex was thinking. Her mind was quickly drawn to a different matter when Alex asked who she spoke to on the phone. She didn't want to bring up the topic of her birthday so she shrugged and replied, "It was just my cousin. She was just asking me something is all...nothing important."

She took another bite of the pizza before getting some bread sticks and some wings. Sofia didn't eat a lot of it and set her plate down and just sat there sipping her soda.

Debra merely shrugged and said, "Oh well. You can't blame a girl for asking!" After eating some more pizza, Debra hesitantly said, "Sofia, I was wondering if I can ask a big favor of you. Would it be OK if I were to borrow your guitar long enough for me to talk my grandmother into buy one for me? I think she'll do it if I can prove to her that I'm really interested in learning to play, and if I can convince her that it will help keep me out of trouble."

"Hmmm you know what, honestly you can have the guitar if you want. I have two more back at my parents house...just didn't have room to bring it here," She smiled and finished off her cup of soda. "My parents liked to show me their love by buying me tons of instruments. So that's also another reason why I know how to play so many." She shrugged and added, "Hope your grandma lets you keep it, it's a productive thing to do." Sofia then glanced over at Alex and then at Bo who was sitting in front of Alex wagging his tail, wanting a piece of pizza. Chuckling lightly she shook her head, "Silly dog."

"Really? Thank you!" Debra said in delight. She considered it to be a very generous thing to do, and she also had to wonder about just how much money that Sofia's parents actually had. Musical instruments could be pretty expensive, especially guitars that were working replicas of those used by famous rock stars. Of course a brand-new Mercedes Benz was pretty expensive too. Debra went on to say, "If you don't mind, I'm going to tell my grandmother to give you a call if she has any questions. I don't want her to think I got the guitar with the 'five finger discount'." In other words, Debra didn't want her grandmother to think that she had stolen the guitar. All of Debra's black clothing and a few other possessions, such as her stereo, had come from 'a friend', or so Debra had insisted, and she had allowed her grandmother to draw her own conclusions. So far, though, her grandmother had not pressed Debra for details, possibly because her grandmother did not want to confirm her suspicions.

Sofia nodded and smiled, "Of course, I wouldn't want her thinking you stole it too. Hope you enjoy that guitar as much as I have." She chuckled and got up and went into the kitchen to get some food for Bo though he was still wanting some pizza but she also made sure that Bo ate healthy too. One thing her parents did right was to raise her to eat healthy. She finally got him into the kitchen as he ate his own food she joined Alex and Debra back in the living room. Once seated back she stretched and took her glasses off to clean them properly.

"Your grandmother would actually think that?" Alex asked with interest, and then he smiled as he joked, "You're just a regular juvenile delinquent, aren't you?" Debra smiled as well, and she shrugged as she replied, "I've never said that I'm an angel or a saint." Her remark seemed to amuse her in a way that suggested that she had some kind of private joke going on. "Well, I think that most people don't even come close to either of those two," Alex went on to say, "Sofia is the only person whom I personally know who does qualify." All things considered, Alex's statement was the truth, rather than just an attempt to flatter Sofia.

Sofia looked at Alex and said, "Well...depends on what makes a person an angle or a saint. I certainly wouldn't say I'm qualified to be considered either of those two. Besides, you don't know my past Alex, who's to say I used to be a very big troublemaker but later in life I changed. You never know..." She smiled and chuckled as if she was joking though truthfully she was being completely serious. He didn't know anything about her other than her present self but he knew nothing of her past. She always wondered when Alex would ask her about it. Then again she didn't know much about his either but she figured she would ask him about his when he asks about hers.

Sofia's reply was too cryptic for Alex to just let it pass by, and so he said, "Tell you what. You tell me the worst thing that you've ever done. In fact, I dare you to tell me, and after you do, I'll tell you the worst thing that I've ever done. Just to keep things fair, Debra can then tell us the worst thing that she's done. Oh, and whatever is said in this room stays in this room." "Are you sure that you want to hear the worst thing that I've done?" Debra inquired. Alex nodded and replied, "If we're going to confess, then you're going to confess too. As I said, it's only fair."

"I'd rather not..." Sofia muttered though the expression on her face showed that she was pretty serious as well as uncomfortable with the fact that they wanted to hear the worst thing she had done. Perhaps compared to the other things they had done hers wasn't that bad, but to her, it was something she never really wanted to think about, let alone speak of it. "By all means you two can partake in the confession, I'll be in the room if you need me." And with that she got up and went to the bedroom as to not hear what it was that they wanted to confess, it wasn't fair for her to hear what they had to say and not say anything in return. I think it was rather obvious that she was slightly upset.

As soon as Sofia had left, Debra grabbed a sofa pillow and threw it at Alex as she said in a low voice, "Way to go, ya big dope! You've upset her! Oh, and since she's not confessing to anything, I'm not confessing to anything either! You can imagine anything you want about me. Except for sex, because I haven't done anything that has to do with sex." After an awkward silence, she then prodded, "Well? Why are you still sitting here?"

Catching on to what Debra meant, Alex stood up and replied, "Yeah, I should apologize or something." He went to the bedroom and stopped just inside the door. "Sorry about that," he said to Sofia, "I didn't mean to be that nosy. I was just curious, that's all. It's kind of hard for me to picture you as a troublemaker, but I can take your word for it."

Sofia walked out of the walk in closet and glanced over at Alex. She had put away some clothes that came out of the laundry. Shaking her head she replied, "No need to apologize, I can understand why you'd be curious, I suppose I just don't feel comfortable telling you certain things just yet. Any else I'm fine with though. I'm past is rather complicated, But I'm sure others had worse, I'm just still in that process of trying to figure out how to even deal with it even now." Sofia turned and walked back into the closet and grabbed something before walking back out and holding out a scrap book.

"But here, you can take a look at these pictures. They're just of my childhood and of me growing up, etc."

Now that Alex had taken the time to think about it, he had to say that he really wasn't all that keen on admitting to any of his misdeeds, and so it was just as well that his idea had fallen flat. As he took the photo album from Sofia, he asked, "Would you mind it if I looked at them in the living room? I bet Debra would be interested in them as well."
