I can relate. It's like that time that someone tried to compare an oboe to a clarinet. Which you just can't do! I mean, one's a double reed instrument and the other is a single! The tone quality is totally distinct in both instruments. Butyeah.

Oh! Good music nerd story:
So a group of music majors were watching an orchestra perform an arrangement of a popular Jimi Hendrix song. One of the students, a recorder major *snicker* came up to the conductor after the performance and said...

Wait for it...

"Is Mr. Hendrix a contemporary composer?"
