"D-darling!" sputtered Gren, hastily closing his nostebook in a flurry of papers, blushing. "You're home early today!"
"Hello, Mr. MacPere!" smiled Adam sunnily, then frowning slightly. "Somebody wrecked up my garden...all of the tomatoes are gone, the starter peppers, the chives...It's a nightmare." he said with a sigh. "How are you?"

"Sorry, love~" Eliwood sighed, strolling over to plant a kiss on his husband's cheek. "I had to return for you~"
As he pet Gren's cheek, he looked up, smiling to Adam. "Greetings, Adam~ I'm fine, thank you. I would ask how you are, but, well, it can't be too pleasant with a wrecked garden. Who are the culprits?"

Gren pressed a kiss to Eli's palm. "I've missed you...I'll make you something nice tonight."
"I...I don't know, actually. Something with a beak, I think...I mean, I have an idea where my catnip keeps going, but this is new...either some vagrant was too hungry to come in and ask for a meal, or a wild animal arrived, I think." he said thoughtfully. "Where have you been?"

"You're cooking me dinner?" he asked, looking surprised but genuinely pleased. "Wow! Thank you!" He set aside his notebook and stood, wrapping his husband in a strong embrace.
Adam blushed mildly at the sight with a smile. "You got to travel? Was it nice?"

Gren nuzzled in, relishing the contact. Adam hummed, watching. Gren didn't hunch quite the same way in a hug with his husband...
"I didn't know you liked hugs, Gren...you're pretty shy in giving them out."
"I can be..."
"Is it because..." he started, stopping for a moment, and continuing "Because you're saving them all for him?"

Adam sighed, looking wilted. "Okay...I'm glad that's all it is. When I got a hug from you the other night, I thought I felt bandages...and, in light of recent events and other mutant secrets I was threatened to keep, I was scared I'd happened on another..."
Gren blinked, glancing to Eli a minute, and said carefully. "Well...yeah, there are bandages...There is a reason they're there, but I'm not gonna die or anything. It's just there for an old war wound."
"Really?" he said, looking relieved. "Is it still sore?"
"Yep! That's why the bandages."
