Aravilui sighed softly, closing his eyes in sympathy. "Aahh... I see. Yes, I think I can understand that pain, if not through having experienced such myself."
He spread one hand slightly. "That is not an easy thing, to lose one's love so soon. I sorrow for his pain..." His brow furrowed slightly in equal distress.

Adam shook his head. "But he doesn't know about it! He's lost his memories, and Hana said not to tell him...I think he's gonna deal with that himself. So...d-don't look at him with pity and such."

Aravilui wrinkled his nose. "Do give me more credit than that, please. I know he does not remember, and to see such an expression on my face would not be of any good for him."
He wrinkled his nose again with a bit of a smirk, "Especially since he did not know me before, and so it would seem even more odd on my face. I would have no good explanation. What great foolishness that would be."

"Your pardon, I did not mean to offend," Aravilui apologized, biting his lip again. "Secrets are never much fun, particularly when one is keeping them from friends."
He sat down not far from the other two, resting his chin in his hand with his elbow on the bar.

Aravilui bit his lip. Honestly, he did not really know that trouble... But there was no need to say that. He might very well learn that difficulty in his time here, anyway. Adam's question distracted him and he sat up more properly, blinking.
"Hm? Er, ná, le hannon-" He stopped and coughed slightly in embarrassment. "I mean, yes, thank you. I would like one. Thank you for the offer."

Adam finally smiled a little, getting up and heading outside, returning in a minute's time with a few plump red cherry tomatoes. "Here!" he smiled, offering them out.

Aravilui smiled back and accepted a tomato with a nod. "Thank you very much, Adam. They look wonderful. I never get to see them, they do not generally go very well in my home."
He took a careful bite, not wanting to have juice go everywhere like the peach Zippo had given him. "It is very good, thank you," he smiled brightly at Adam.

Adam beamed, nibbling one for himself. "Thanks! Nothing beats a home-grown tomato, some days." he said, adding a little salt. "I like broccoli and cucumbers too...what do you like?"

Aravilui muttered, "Whatever I can get."
Then he just laughed softly. "I have never really had anything that was not technically 'home grown' as you say, and most of it is preserved. I do not usually get fresh vegetables or fruit as there is very little sun where I live. We do have a few clearings that allow for farming, but mostly we trade with Men who live nearby for such things. I am rather fond of apples, though. And grapes."

Adam hummed, listening, interested. "Apples are my absolute favorite fruit...but grapes are dandy. Where do you live that doesn't get much sun? There are tasty enough plants that don't need it.."

"A forest that until recently was known as Mirkwood," Aravilui smiled, finishing his tomato fairly quickly. "The trees are very thick, so that is part of the reason for the name. There is some sun, but we also have spiders that would gleefully snack on you to worry about. So it is just easier to trade for what we need and focus on clearing out the remains of evil that have been in our home for far too long."
He shrugged, "I am sure we do have a few places that I do not know about where we grow a fair amount of food, but my job is to hunt spiders, and occasionally deer, not grow food. I rarely have the patience for farming, in any case. Not seriously."
