"Heh heh..." he said sheepishly, smiling. "I am wondering, though...ehat do you men, gravity?"
"I could try teaching you, or doing it for you...think really hard of some memory, and tell me when you have it. Then blink when I snap my fingers and we'll see if it happens!" she said cheerfully. "And they usually don't, Violet, but they're sworn to secrecy and it's nice to talk about it sometimes...but, you've got mental fortitude, so I think you'll be A-okay!"

Max got a mischievous look in her eye, glancing around the room for something she could use...finally settling on downing her cola in a long gulp. She stood up and pitched the can toward the other end of the room, pointing at it as soon as she had done so.
"Gravity!" It was surrounded in a vaguely purple aura, landing on the ground in a crumpled heap. "Like that."
Orrin nodded, taking a moment to think of a fond memory...and there it was, a serene vista from one of his travels. "Okay..."
"Thank you..." Violet nodded. "It...means a lot to hear that."

Adam gaped, amazed, and started to applaud. "That was incredible! Was that magic?" he asked excitedly. "How did you do that?!"
"Awwww...you're cute, Violet. It's totally true, though. You're brilliant!" she nodded, clearly certain this this was so. "Okay...ready...steady...blink!" said the girl, snapping her fingers. In midair, there was an old fashioned snap, and a fresh sepia photograph appeared with a smoky puff of light, regardless of the time period of the actual contents, a relaxing looking vista. "Hum! That's new. I believe this is your memory?" she said, handing it over.
(Bed time...go Stein and goodnight. I'll reply in the morn~)

"Yup...I gotta gift from some cool folks who passed through a while ago," Max explained, pulling on a glove and a sleeve to display the green glow about her arm. "I can only use gravity, but it's supposed ta get stronger with practice."
"Exactly," Orrin sighed, looking at it and growing a little misty-eyed. "Thank you, Charlotte."
"Orrin...may I draw that...?" Violet asked, pointing ambiguously in his direction. Whether this expression or the photo, it wasn't clear.
"O-of course!" Orrin answered, handing over the photo.
Violet got to work, feel upbeat and happy about this work...finally, something bright.

Adam looked quizzically to the green glow in her arm. "I...don't understand. he said finally. "Your arm is glowing, so...how..?"
Charlotte watched Orrin's actions with a silently delighted wiggle. 'He is -so- cute~'

"How can I explain this...?" Max hummed for a moment before the proverbial lightbulb went off. "It's like an implant, sort of. But instead of makin' my boobs bigger or helping someone identify me if I get lost, it lets me crush cans an' stuff." She beamed a smile, hoping he understood...though if she were to remove it, he'd probably be just as mystified.
"This place...it doesn't exist anymore," he said softly, watching Violet sketch furiously. "I always missed it...seeing it again in front of my eyes rather than behind them is a real treat."

He blinked, absorbing the information with a nod. "So it's a non-cosmetic addition...what's it made of?" he askwd curiously. "Did it hurt? I can't see a surgery scar, so it was a very good job."
She tilted her head slightly. "Where and when was it..?"

"Doesn't hurt a bit," Max giggled, feeling a little awkward about possibly having to explain the exact nature of a materia with Adam. "Well, they claimed these form from the memories and spirits of previous generations into these crystalline things...sounds kinda like a legend ta me, but they work, so I don't have much of a way to complain."

"I don't think so," Max said, tilting her head. "If it did, I'm sure Sol woulda heard somethin'...he's got one a these, too, but he doesn't wear it around as much as I do. Maybe it's like elementals or somethin' round here...it's just what they do."

Orrin was knocked out of his attempts to remember exactly where and when that vista was by Felix's entry. "Hello, Felix!" He greeted, double-checking his physical distance from Charlotte. After all, he hadn't actually asked yet.
"Well, if I had ta go by what the folks who brought 'em said, no...well, 'cept for one. It's, like, crystallized evil or somethin'. Brings down some huge meteor, supposedly." Max shrugged. "These are just elemental force...some of 'em actually do have spirits inside that pop out."
