Adam looked a bit dismayed. "Oh, that's true..." he said, worried. "M-maybe she's gone on one of her trips without telling anyone? Heh heh heh..?"
Gren chuckled, touseling his hair. Adam pouted. "I'm not a kid..."
"I know. But your hair needed messing up." he replied.
Charlotte waved sunnily at Marylin before scooping up Emi and Eri as they chased her playfully, chittering, having stuffed their new friend's pockets with candied almonds. "Toodle-oo~!"

"I'm sure she'll understand," Sol reassured him, accompanied with another mug of tea. "Besides, it's not permanent."
"What's not--whoa, I heard Red was rough, but yikes!" Terry leaned, looking at it sideways. "Sorry...I should've been the one out there..."
"Watching over Marilyn was also important, Terry...if she had bolted, she likely would not have survived." Orrin smiled, patting him on the shoulder. "You did an excellent job; your singular girlfriend is in recovery."

"Is she alright...?" Terry asked, looking to the others. "Stella, I mean...everything went okay?"
"Besides a huge headache and being exhausted, yes," Sosol nodded. "She needs a little time; eight sets of memories are trying to sort themselves out in her mind. She's not used to that."
"Not many are...I have no idea how she acquired that," Orrin sighed. "I'm always so careful about selling splitters."
"You've got more than one of those things?" Azana asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why would anyone want one?

"Or to accomplish twice as much," Orrin added. "Many of them come at costs, unfortunately, and has their own limit as to how many times one can duplicate themselves. Two, all the way up to thirteen."

"What I'm wondering is how she got it if you didn't give it to her." said Gren to Orrin, glancing over. "I doubt she'd have stolen it."

Orrin hummed in thought, digging around in his pocket. "I believe I do...no, not that one...hm, no...that one makes far too many...ah!"
Finally, he pulled out an amulet. "This can split you into two, and only two."

"It creates a sort of opposite," Orrin explained, "in almost every way. If you are proficient at something, your duplicate will have little skill. If you are right-handed, it will be left-handed. A perfect balance to yourself."
"Interesting," Sosol said, thinking about it. A version of himself with little psychic ability...considering he had known it practically all his life, it seemed so strange to consider himself without it.
"A perfect opposite...it doesn't shift morality, does it?" Azana asked, hand on her hip.
"Not at all...it mirrors mind and body, but not heart. There's another splitter for one's evil twin."

"I suppose, for safety's sake, I can demonstrate this amulet's ability." Orrin slipped it over his head, gazing into the pendant's mirrored surface. "Rogorodon." A soft glow enveloped him, soon pulling apart into two forms. It faded, and Orrin smiled and gestured over to the opposite before blinking and blushing at the sight of his duplicate.
His opposite grinned, bowing in greeting... "Good evening, everyone."
"O-oh," Orrin blushed in embarrassment, looking to the others. "Well, I did say it was an opposite in almost every way."Azana snickered. "I can see that..." Sosol tilted his head. "So it balances in gender, too...odd."
