Zulma had heard about the situation when she was in the kitchen, although she did not know the details.
"Stella..." she grunted darkly.
"Accident or not, you are taking that far too lightly."
How could he give her such an adorable smile now?! She should have been there, not him. She was a fighter, he was not! Once again...
It's always like that...I'm never there...
She passed a hand in her hair to try to calm herself down.

"It's not her fault, Zulma...please don't be mad." he asked quietly. "It's all taken care of, everyone's safe...and for all the people that were working on this, I'm glad that I was the one who got hit, just because I'll get better...it doesn't even hurt."
He petted her arm with his good hand. "It's okay...I'm fine."

Zulma sighed.
"That's where you are wrong Adam. It's not okay. Growing back or not, I was not..." she stopped and shook her head.
"And yes it was her fault."
She sighed.
"I am tired Adam, you have no idea." she said looking at him in the eye and she pulled away from him, sat back on her sit, grabbed her glass which she finished at once and took her book which she was unable to go on reading.

Adam closed his mouth at the stare to his eye, looking down in shame instead. " 'M sorry." he murmured, sidling back into his room, knowing very well when he was in the doghouse.

As Zulma heard Adam go up, she closed her book and stared at the floor, putting her head between her hands.
She cursed.

Zippo whuffled Zulma's ankle, large golden eyes lifting to look into Zulma's. He cooed a small chirp, curious.

Closing his eyes and nuzzling into the pet, Zippo cooed, blinking at the question. trilling under his breath in thought, he scratched behind one feathered little ear with a large claw. "Tii!"

He'd always enjoyed tea when he was upset. Or happy. Or sleepy. He trilled, and leaned into another pet.

Zulma looked at him puzzled, then she understood and stood up, taking Zippo with her on her shoulder.
"Good idea! I'll make you one too!" she said softly as she prepared two cups of tea...as she poured the tea, she realized that...she had prepared three cups.

Zulma looked at the cups and scratched the chibi's head.
"Yes...three teas..." she paused.
"Enjoy your tea."
With those words, she took the remaining two cups and headed for Adam's room.
She could not knock, having full hands, so she called softly.
"Adam?"

It hurt. It truly did. More than not having been there to protect him, his sorrowful face hit her deep in her heart.
"Tea?" she asked feeling bad about her earlier behavior.
