Angeles took his hand and shook it, but did not hold it for long. It was warm, "pleasure to meet you Adam. As to my health, I'm as well as a vampire can be, I'm in a bit of a predicament right now as it were," she began to understand what it was. His eyes held no hint of resentment to her. Of course he was not there, he did not know what she had done. It was refreshing, helped her to fight down the desire to kill Stella where she stood; unforgiven.

Stella took the moment of interaction to begin her scan. "Don't mind me; I'm not here," she muttered, using both her own magical prowess and a certain borrowed green eyepiece. The tension was palpable...some part of her knew why Angeles hated her. Same reason everyone hated her...and she hated herself, despite the clarity her momentary split had provided.

Tyler sighed...Angeles was living in the past in more ways than one, it seemed. Old names, old news, old grudges. And this is why I hate reunions.

He nodded cheerfully. "That's right! My middle name is James, so it's a little different."

Stella frowned...being close to a vampire was one thing she had easily grown accustomed to. Scanning one was a different story, especially when this one would happily cause her all sorts of harm anywhere else. Maybe I should've sent someone else, she thought to herself, focusing where she had been told to; on the bite itself. The initial energy was easy enough to tease out, but she stayed a few minutes longer, delving as deep as she could without tracing it. The last thing she wanted to do was attract their attention.

Kristen left the group alone, heading upstairs to carve another lantern for the other window in front. It was one way of passing the time...she almost missed being Stella's assistant.

She smiled, "I'm glad you've had a pleasant time. Who is it that has given you grief? I'm glad you've added a feature to the inn. 'New-ness' is always nice," Angeles' face suddenly changed to panic and she pushed Stella away from her, maybe a little more roughly than she needed to, but not as hard as she could have; only enough to get her a safe distance away, not enough to hurl her through a wall.

"Irrelevant," grumbled the bat in her coat crawling out and glaring at Adam as simply the first thing Stellaluna could see, "here again, and no blood this time," he continued to grumble as he took to hanging from the back of Angeles' shoulder. The vampiress looked as if she went through a moment of agony before she put on a mask of emotionlessness.

Stellaluna didn't say anything, so far they weren't caught, yet. She was sure though the process, whatever they were doing wasn't done yet, she would have to return tomorrow.

"Let's go pawn," grumbled the irritated and hungry bat and Angeles left with the thought, I'm sorry, directed towards Sosol.

The shove broke Stella's concentration, and while it wasn't particularly rough, she stumbled back into a chair. She narrowed her eyes in irritation, but it faded quickly at the presence of the bat. Oh, she knew about the bat...everyone spoke about it with the same disdain.

It's alright, Sol tried to reply, unsure if it went through. We'll work with what we have...

Stella watched her leave with a sigh. "...I'll...get this into a format you can use," she said, setting it down. "Can I have a drink before I go...?"

"Thanks..." Stella grinned, looking down at the apple. "It does." She pulled out a simple quartz point with her free hand, infusing it with the half-completed scan spell before it dissipated.

"Long story short, that bat busts us, and it's game over," Tyler explained.

"Stellaluna is there as a security detail, to keep her on task and in line. If it knew what we were trying to do, it wouldn't stand for it." Sosol landed some ginger ale in front of Stella. "So, we have to be dainty about this one...it's a good exercise in stealth."
