At the sight of water, his tail immediately fluffed in alarm. Fee wailed in fear, scampering off in terror, hiding under the couch. "Uruuuuuuuuuuu~!"

"Stella and I, strangely, came up with different versions of the same idea," Tyler explained. "She just completed the magical route...or it seems like it, at least."

He took another sip, setting down the glass. "I'm hoping they don't need me, as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm called to try it anyway."

Zulma noted that although Tyler was opened and told her some information, he was keeping her at arm length. Maybe it was only because the bat was so close. So she did not question further.
"I'm glad to hear. Let me know if I can help out. I would like to be included." she reminded him with a gentle smile showing that she appreciated his trust. Today she was not making a scene.
However the chibi was. He had disappeared in fear. She apologized to Tyler and crossed the room to crouch by the couch.
"Come out Fee, there is no more water. I promise." she said a little embarrassed to have scared him.

A pair of small eyes reflecting in the dim light looked back, large, dewy, horribly upset. "U-uweh..."

Marouse led Stella in, smiling. "Success, we believe..."

Charlotte strolled in soon after. "..?"

Stella took a seat with the briefcase, sending it away with a small portal. "Thank you, Marouse..."

Violet walked in, blinking at the colorful lump on a table. "Is that...?"

"The chibi's latest art project..." Tyler smiled, finishing his drink. "May I present Stellaluna's makeover?"

"Not at all..." he purred, strolling into the kitchen, intent on tea and cake.

Charlotte started, stared, and snickered. "Oh man...he had that coming..." she chortled. "Zippo, honey, come on out of there...he looks like something from the late 60's."

Zippo cheeped. "Kamfii!"

Stella gave a light laugh to the rainbow bat as she waited, resting her head in her arms for the time being.

Violet giggled shyly, pulling her sketchbook from the table and beginning to record for posterity.

The rich scent of spice wafted through the air from the kitchen, gravelled voice singing quietly in Arabic.

Charlotte followed the sound of chibi despair and fished out Fee, cuddling him. "Don't worry, Zulma. He's scared of water, that's all...here's, you can clean him up with a wet-nap." she said, handing over the chibi with said wipe.

She looked around. "...Where'd Alistair go?"

Another time spent here, another time this place had saved his life. Erik couldn't stand it at all, he preferred the strife...well, not when heavily armored people with large swords chased him around wherever. Come to think of it, he still had to deal with his valiant pursuer, she'd put him through a lot of trouble, but in the end she couldn't run too far. He wondered what that reason was for however, why could somebody who'd dedicated so much time to training only run that short distance? She was awake so he had to ask at least, but first he had to deal with something. "I don't think you should try to attack me, hunter. Not only are you bound to fail, but you cannot battle me here anyway."

"Tch..." The white haired warrior didn't seem too different from when Erik had first met her, when he nearly had his head removed from his body.

"What's your name? Why did you attack me?" Erik asked, the sharpness plain in his voice, it was like a dagger through the ribs. The warrior did not respond to him, probably because of how much of a jerk he was. If she couldn't fight him then he couldn't fight her, she owed him nothing. Erik shook his head and propped his feet up on his table, this was bothering him more than it should have. "You'll talk eventually..."

"Maybe, but I won't tell you anything." That comment made Erik chuckle, so it was going to be like that? That was fine with him.

The awkward silence going on right now was something Erik was all too familiar with, but being nice for information wasn't his thing. And he couldn't use torture for answers because...well...Inn of Peace. So they just sat there, backs facing each other. Erik watched the shadows dance across the walls since he didn't have much else to do, and one thing he didn't plan on doing was speaking to the woman he'd just avoided, then saved. No matter if he saved her or not, Erik seemed so much darker and colder, like when he first came here.

Angeles walked in behind everyone else and noticed what they were all looking at and laughed cruelly, "serves him right," she said walking over to him and snatching him suddenly from the table. She was free now, Dracula couldn't use her to hurt D or anyone else for that matter. She still wasn't sure if he was telepathically linked to Dracula, but she was feeling confident now. If Dracula came, she could get D, and there wouldn't be any problems.

"Mm... hm? What? What the--!?" Stellaluna looked at the smile on Angeles' face before noticing his new dreamcoat. He gave an exclamation of surprise, spreading his wings and watching the chibi fall away from him onto the table, and he gave another exclamation.

"What is going on here!?" he demanded of Angeles who shoved him into her coat pocket and secured it closed before looking around at the patrons, "thank you all," she said then smiled at Stella. She then headed upstairs for some much deserved rest. Now that it was done, she didn't want to leave. For the first time in a long time, she felt home.

***

Coming down the next morning Angeles stopped on the stairs at the sight of a certain someone sitting at a table with someone she did not recognize. The woman was of no concern to her, but the man irked her greatly. However, she had no more room to drive him from the inn for threatening the safety of its patrons. Whatever assassins may be after him, Dracula was after her, she was sure of it. She had made a makeshift collar out of strips of cloth from her coat for the new rainbow-colored bat in her pocket, and had secured the chain of her locket as a leash to the lining of the pocket. He had screamed all night at her that there would be hell to pay until he passed out from the last vestiges of the drug Sosol had given him, but she felt safe here. Stellaluna was still asleep.

So, with nothing to say, she merely glared at Erik with crimson eyes before slipping into the kitchen to get a drink of blood.

Erik felt like somebody had just tried to stab him, he knew the feeling, that vampire again. He didn't know how many times over he wished he could assassinate her, but he was finished trying to get on her good side, it wasn't worth it, not even for his brother. Erik sighed and tried to approach this a different way, if he didn't know what he needed to saving this girl was just a pointless gesture. "Alright slayer, we both know that if we continue on this way neither one of us has anything to gain...all I want to know is why you attacked me." Erik said in a much softer voice, that was actually pretty funny coming from him if anybody had heard him speak before.

"Because it's my job to cleanse the world of demons like you." The warrior replied. Erik didn't consider himself a demon, unless she was talking about his sword. "Do you mean my blade?" He asked, the warrior nodded, that sword had corrupted Erik's soul to an almost insane degree, no wonder she could feel it. One thing Erik wanted to know about was her lack of fatigue, she could hardly keep up with him, but he decided not to pry for now.

"Your eyes...you're blind aren't you?" Erik asked, he was met with more silence, but she nodded. She was following him because the only thing she could see was the demonic presense Erik held with him, that explained a lot of things. "What is your name?" Erik wanted to know everything he could possibly know about this new...threat.

"Adra." Erik had heard that name somewhere before, if he remembered correctly that was part of Chase's last name.

"You are no assassin, who sent you?" Erik asked, that was what he mostly wanted to figure out. If he didn't know who was after him then he couldn't retaliate. If he couldn't fight back then he was as good as dead, and he preferred life.

"I sent myself, it was because of your kind I lost my eyesight. Not only my eyesight...but your kind took something much more important to me than that." Erik went silent, she was obviously talking about demons as she'd been earlier, but what could they have taken from her? Erik figured the only thing a warrior could possibly have worth taking was something that they could never part with besides battle, something he himself had with him.

"Life." Adra shook her head, Erik had been close in his guess, but not completely right.

"It's easy assassin," said Angeles leaning against the frame of the doorway that led into the kitchen, "but I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand the feeling of loss," it seemed he had the same sentiment for her as she had for him. It wasn't easy to overlook something like that. He had almost killed her, cheated really by using the powers of death himself, if it came to a fight now, again, she was sure she would lose within minutes rather than holding out for hours like the last time. The amusing thing was, she had saved his brother's life, and Erik probably didn't even know. Maybe then he would understand his new friend's plight.

"I told you you were a danger to this in, that it follows you like a shadow, didn't I Erik? Now here's your proof," she gestured to the woman named Adra.

Erik didn't speak for a moment. "Loss is a weakness, if I let feelings like that hold me down I would not be an assassin, I'd have a coffin in the cold ground for the rest of eternity." Erik had made the mistake of letting this place make him soft, he became a liability to everything he swore to protect, because his feelings made him weaker. That was why he slowly fell back in to his old ways, unwilling to let emotions cloud his mind when something needed to be done.

"I have no illusions toward the contrary, this is my...destiny." Erik didn't mind danger following him, he'd happily face it for the rest of his days.

Adra stood up and leaned the heavy two-handed blade she used on Erik against the wall, the sight of it made him cringe, it was like being burned by a fire. Adra had a question she needed to ask. "Can you describe him for me, all I can see, feel...is evil. He says he is no demon...but the feeling of it is certainly there." Underneath Erik's mask he had a slightly angered face, he wasn't evil, but what he carried with him was. Unless he ripped his soul from his body he'd be called evil for the rest of his days, he did what he was ordered.

"Evil? You don't think your holy crusade against all things dark is evil in its own right? How many innocent lives have you cut down with that blade you have just because you 'felt' something coming from them? Hundreds? Thousands? You are no better than some murder." Adra made no attempt to reply to Erik at first.

"You don't know me." She said simply.

Angeles shook her head and chuckled darkly, "and that is why Erik, you have lost your humanity, and I have held onto mine," she already wanted to throw him out of the inn, but she did not have the authority. She looked over at Adra as she asked her question, "does it matter what your enemy looks like? I'll help you kill him if you like, we just need to get him outside is all," her voice was dark and cold. She had no feelings for the man as she turned to look at him and inhaled lightly before answering, "he has dark hair, almost black but not quite. It's a little longer than shoulder length. He has two-colored eyes, his left is blue, his right is yellow. His skin is light-colored, his face is round, he looks to be about twenty or so. He has thin lips, a strong neck. His body is svelt, his shoulders square. His hands are the hands of an artist. His art is death. Need I go on?"

"I don't need humanity, I am a weapon. I have been one snice the moment of my birth, never a human." Erik's words had ice clinging to them, ice that chilled the soul.

Adra shook her head, she'd heard enough to know what she'd be killing. Erik had made the mistake of saving a life this time, now it would all be over with his story's ending coming closer, he would gladly fight the both of them at the same time if that was their wish.

"I will not run from this, if it is my death you seek vampire then you will have your battle." Adra looked slightly surprised, those who willing walked toward their demise were as foolish as children, sticking their hands where pain obviously awaited them. Adra nodded, if this was what he wanted then it was alright by her. Erik didn't know if Angeles was serious or not, but by her tone he could tell this was something she wanted too. "If you want me then fine, we'll fight in the plains just like before, just one minor difference this time." Erik said as he left, the difference was he only had the ability to trust his skills now, Damian was gone so death's strength was out of his reach.

"Will you assist me in this, no matter what he says his life is slowly killing this world, if he no longer lived then maybe something would change." Adra said, picking up her blade again and holding it in a one-handed grip. She'd made up her mind to kill Erik, and if Angeles did then this would be easier.
