"She set me free!" he wailed looking beyond the open door, "the other Valentines kept me in the basement and beat me and made me do terrible things and she set me free from all of it! She let me go! She let me have a life! A life like yours! Free to do what I wanted and to be happy and to not hurt anymore! No one's slave but my own! That's why! That's why! Can't any of you understand!?"
Kru buried his face in his hands and wept, sobbing Angeles' name over and over again.
"I believe she told you to be quiet," said the dragon calmly.
"Silence you," snapped Stellaluna looking over at the dragon through the window, his eyes glowing crimson one hand clutched tightly, "you don't know what slavery is like, so just remain silent."

Charlotte patted his back, saying nothing more, letting the silence speak.
Remy sipped his blood with a scowl.
Gren peeked out from beneath his bed, glancing about. He was in his room, in his apartment, in his Inn...who was firing guns? His eyes narrowed angrily.

The dragon also went silent, corners of her mouth turned down as her whiskers lifted slightly. Kru continued to sob but it slowly subsided and he sat in front of the door on his hands and knees looking out to the night. There were so many questions he wanted answered, if only to hear them and get hope for them. She was coming back right? She wasn't going to be hurt? She didn't really leave him there did she? She would be back... right?
Stellaluna's hand unclenched and he rested his cheek against it's back, his gaze wandering over to stare at the wall.

"Ooh! I like those things!" she smiled. "I can't draw very well, but I do like to scrap book...and heaven knows I like talking, ha ha!"
Adam smiled slightly.
"I like talking and visiting and cats and dogs and frogs and all sorts of things~!" she announced. "People are my favorite, though!"

Kru stayed by the door as the others moved on to other things.
"We can all play Senet," offered the dragon half-sarcastically.
"What's going on kitty? I heard loud noises," asked the child coming down the stairs finally after having taken another nap.
"It's alright Lili, just some people having a disagreement."
"Oh okay!"

Stellaluna blinked then looked over at the friendly man who was smiling at him. What was with him? He was... too nice. Didn't he know that the vampire didn't like humans. At least he wasn't insulting him like the scarred woman did, "only vampire games," he said softly in a deep purr. He thought for a moment then added, "and hide-and-go-seek."
"I like hide-and-go-seek!" said Lili throwing her arms up.

"What!? I--- ugh...," Stellaluna sat back in his chair and rubbed his eyes, "fine fine. I'll be it. This will be over soon."
"Yay!" the young girl quickly ran and ducked underneath a table before Stellaluna even closed his eyes and began counting. The vampire watched where she went then shook his head and palmed his face then covered his eyes with his hand.
"One, two," he said in a bored slightly exhasperated tone.
