Kai looked the drawing over and nodded in approval. He even managed a half-smile, if somewhat insincere. He reached into his own jacket pocket and produce an old ratty sketchbook. Its cover was made of jagged,, cracked leather and its pages where turn and aged. He opened it and presented it with one hand to display his own art. It was an attempt at sharing a moment through a mutually understood medium.

Siren nodded "I saw. I dropped by a couple of time but mostly I just helped with healing. I didn't know that Az had a birthday recently! Will you pass on my well wishes?" She watched the interaction between Kai and Violet out of the corner of her eye.

Violet gave a silent smile as she looked at the drawing. "...who is she...?" She asked, finding it a good icebreaker...maybe she'd show a few of her better drawings.
"Done," Sosol smiled. "She'd thank you herself, but she's just about to get some sleep. It was actually just last week, so you're not too late."

Kai flipped the book around so he could look at the picture. He didn't have to, he knew exactly who it was.
"She is a friend, though it has been a very long time since we spoke." As he spoke, a sorrowful tone entered the Grombie's hoarse voice. "She is from a time in my past long since over. I drew it for her because I know she likes lions. The irony is...she is blind." A sad smile played over Kai's lips before he slowly closed the book.
"I don't draw everything, but I draw some. It helps me remember."

Cora ran up to the inn and then hurried through the door slamming it shut behind her. Taking a quick glance around she noticed Siren. Hurrying up to her she practically vibrated in her spot waiting.
Siren smiled at Sosol "Thank you. Now.." As she went to continue to talk to him she heard the door behind her and sighed. "Sosol is Cora standing behind me?"

She sighed again "Do you think if I ignore her she will go away?" she asked him in a hopeful voice.
Hearing what Siren said Cora made a small squeeky noise.

The Grombie regarded the girl for a moment. The dark, red, sunken eyes of the creature, usually menacing, suddenly looked hallow and distant.
"When you get to my age, little one, there are things thatt are too easy to forget...and too painful to remember. Its not that I cannot remember them; rather it is that sometimes it is inconvenient to do so." Kai fell silent for a moment, his gaze sliding down to the floor, but not really seeing it. After a bit of a reveire he seemed to return to his senses.
"Besides, its hard to remember anything when the parts of your brain that have not been eaten are severely rotting." He half-joked.

"Depends on how stubborn she is," Sosol chuckled.

"Nothing to be sorry about." Kai said, dispelling the last of his gloom with a sgh and a drink of juice.
"No need to drudge up old memories more than you have to. How about something possibly a little lighter? How did you come to be the resident artist at the inn?" Kai spoke with more enthusiasm than all the time he had been here together. Whether it was sincere or he was simply trying to avoid getting the girl in an emotional state was anyone's guess, perhaps even his.

Charlotte giggled. "Should I just exclude them, Bashful?"
"Well...then I guess he's okay with more?"
Gren had taken his favorite spot by the bar, mulling over Adam/ new about Angeles. 'Sometimes I wonder if she does this on purpose...'

He gestured to the back of the kitchen, where there loomed a sinister device of scrap metal, looking much as if a Zerg ship had crashed into a pipe organ, gotten cyborg attachments, and had been painted shiny black before the buttons on its display had been patterned in cheerful stickers.
He strolled up, hitting a few buttons, and a small door in it opened diagonally, revealing a steaming mug of fresh green tea. "We call it the Drinkamajig." he said proudly, giving Rei the cup.
