Slit her gaze shut. "Xei gave you my -true- name, its how she was able to cope with me so long, if you want proof, simple state my name, and a command. You can bind me in place, force me to drop to my knee's.." Anything really, once her name with a direct command was spoken, she'd have to follow suit an do as told, she handed over all power over herself to them. "The Inn is suppose to open an welcoming to all, yes? I don't judge others races simple because they have a few bad eggs, not everyone is the same as before." She chides lowly, in a way, she considered the male to be racist, merely because a few of her kin, were the bad eggs they ran into, didn't mean she was -bad- persay.

Nix's attention turned from the bat to a new voice. She saw the loaded rifle and thought, . The girl stood still as her face moved from Gren's to Lyr's, tracing the flow of conversation. A smile wasn't on her face any more. Although, Nix didn't seem frightened either. She just seemed confused. When Gren demanded a reason, the girl scribbled something in her notebook and showed it to him, hoping that she had written large enough for him to see, "She hasn't done anything wrong yet." As she showed it, Nix's face turned to Lyr as she began to speak.

((One of Charlotte's former incarnations is still Charlotte to some degree >.> and Stellaluna is no longer a bat Kage, he's in his human form now, his profile's in my post if you want to see the tektek.))

Stellaluna sensed the tensity suddenly in the air and this time his arm wrapped around the child with the intent to protect her as what was about to transpire was definately not going to be pleasant. In addition to Violet's already existing fear of demons. As his first ever gesture to show some semblance of caring for any living, or dead for that matter, creature other than himself he murmured gently to Violet, "come, let's go elsewhere."

He was sure the demon would make no ill advised moves, considering the loaded gun, machine, and dragon that where nearby.

"Well," sighed the dragon, sounding disappointed, "he didn't shoot her right out. Come Lili, let's play elsewhere."

"Okay," said the child, seemingly ignorant of how dire the situation was. The little girl skipped by, picked up her coat and skipped outside. the dragon scooped her up and flew her away from the inn and the other confrontation with another demon that was going on nearby.

Minus one dragon.

"It is. But anyone so inconsiderate as to willfully bring trouble to my doorstep, knowing very well that we have a few patrons here that can't handle for trauma, and refuse help when offered are not people I'm willing to defend. I'm not judging you by race, or what you've done. I'm judging you for the company you've decided to keep. An Innkeeper has to protect his patrons, and unfortunately, that mean that sometimes I have to turn folks away." he said with a frown.

"Anyhow, you still haven't given me good reason to let you stay. So far, all you've offered is submission and a scolding. And saying that she has to use your name to cope with you doesn't sound like a good deal for me to take. So, what good does it do you to stay? Be clear, 'cause this thing's loaded with holy water."

(He's not a former incarnation either. It's clearly stated that he's a friend that she split apart.)

(OOC: Ah, oops.... Sorry gonk .)

Nix watched as the other occupants of the inn started making their way out and away from the conflict. Nix thought as she turned her sketchbook around and began considering what else she could do with it to help. However, nothing came to her mind. The thought that perhaps Gren had just missed what she had written came across her mind, but the only way for her to fix that problem was to either go up to him or throw the piece of paper at him. Neither method seemed likely to work very well. It seemed that the only way out of this, at least at the moment, was for Lyr to find a way to convince Gren that she had a reason to stay. Although, that was unfair. Lyr hadn't done anything wrong yet, nor did she seem likely to do anything wrong in the future (or near future at least).

At the same time, Nix could also see what Gren meant. If what he said was true, then Lyr being allowed to relax in the inn could mean others couldn't as well, even if she hadn't done anything wrong herself. However, when looked in another way, that was unfair to Lyr as well. It was, admittedly, a confusing mess. As a result, Nix simply stood by Lyr. If the woman had to leave, then Nix supposed she could leave with her. Not out of spite for the inn, of course, but just to keep her some company so she wouldn't be lonely. That is, if she wanted to company,

Luna's eyes went from the garnet color almost to a ruby as the whole standoff was really beginning to annoy him. Holding Violet firmly to him he merely turned his gaze to the demon and without any prompting, or any sort of permission, or any sort of prompting from anyone other than out of concern for the girl he said, "Lyr. Leave."

He watched the demoness turn around and walked out the door. As it shut behind her Stellaluna sighed and rubbed his brow, gently rubbing Violet's arm comfortingly.

"Thank you, Luna." sighed Gren, shoulders relaxing as he frowned, looking quite tired. "Is Violet all right? And this girl here?"

Adam blinked, looking up from his book. "...Did I miss something?"

Gren smiled kindly at Nix. "I'm sorry you had to see that, Miss."

(PS: Leaving in the middle of an argument is most unhelpful.)

Nix thought as she heard the command. She turned only her upper body partially, getting ready to leave with Lyr so that she would have some company, but something about the woman had the girl freeze midway and then quickly turn back around. The expression on the non-human's face was obviously one that did not want anyone following after her,

At the smile and apology, Nix mustered an apologetic smile of her own and shook her head before writing something in her sketchbook. She finished and showed it to Gren, "It's alright."

He looked sheepish. "Please, pardon me...this innkeeping things makes for rough choices, but I can't let the rest of the folks here be put into danger. I was gonna give Xei an ultimatum of 'get an exorcism or get out'. but I guess that bridge has been crossed..."

He offered a friendly hand. "Name's Gren...what's your handle, Miss?"

Adam looked baffled, sipping his tea.

Luna paused briefly and looked over at Gren. Did the man just... thank him? Did he forget who the vampire was already? The confusion was clear on his face, but he had no time to comment as his and the vampire's attention was turned to Violet. Stellaluna continued to hold her protectively. It seemed at this time, that was all he could do for now.

Kru eased slightly from under the couch as the tension in the air began to lift. He only poked his nose out partially though, only enough to see.

Adam perked up, beckoning to Kru. "Hey, c'mere!" he said quietly. "I want to ask you something!"

Nix nodded vigorously to show that she understood Gren's dilemma and accepted his hand. After shaking it lightly, the girl removed her hand from his and began writing her name. She showed the answer to the innkeeper, "Nix. Nice to meet you Mr. Gren." As she held it up, she had a friendly smile on her face. Although, seeing how her sketchbook was covering the lower half of her face, it probably couldn't be seen all that well.

Kru's ears went from flat against his head to perked slightly before he eased out from under the couch. Walking hunched slightly with his tail between his legs he made his way over to Adam, ears again falling back as he was still recovering from what happened.

Finally, "yes?" he half-whined.

He could see the smile in what showed of her cheeks, and smiled kindly himself. "Bit of laryngitis?" he asked with a friendly grin. "We've got hot tea on tap, if you care for it."

Adam smiled at the wolf. "What would you like for Christmas?" he asked with all the friendliness of a child.

"Chris... Christmas?" Kru eased into a sitting position, still tense, as he tried to recall exactly what Christmas was. What he could remember was three people throwing presents out of an airship. But that was it, "I'm sorry," he said from the bottom of his heart, "what is Christmas... exactly?"
