He tipped his cap accordingly, seeing that the man must've been the girl's uncle of some sort.
"The name's Gareus, good sirrah. Gareus Fletcher."
When Orrin complimented the boots, there was a low yet vibrant hum that emanated from them, like a sweet, deep gong. Gareus blinked.
"And, ah... I guess the boots say thank you...?"

Nix entered the inn, cloak wrapped tightly around her body and even the lower half of her face to ward off the night's chill. the girl thought to herself as she loosened the collar of her cloak just enough for her face to be fully revealed and approached the man who just introduced himself as Gareus. She had silver hair and a pale, but not abnormally so, face. One eye was hidden by a white bandage while the other had a silver hue.
"I bet they would...the compliment is much deserved," Orrin said with a nod, emanating a calm aura even when filled with holiday cheer. "It's nice to meet you, Gareus. As the lady said, I'm Orrin Nayland, karmic trader."
"Tyler Hunter, resident mad genius," the seated man introduced himself with a smirk. Simple, told the story...he'd leave the dramatic flair to others more suited.

He turned yet again to see a girl walk towards him. Seems to be my day for meetin' new people I suppose...
"Um... howdy?"
As he heard a new bout of names, he nodded to each as he read the names off in his mind and out loud.
"Orrin, Tyler, Charlotte, Adam..."

"My apologies," Orrin chuckled sheepishly. "I'm so used to Charlotte introducing me...it's become reflex. The Inn looks wonderful...I heard you were responsible!" He changed the subject, feeling a little guilty for the slight confusion. It did happen on occasion, though, when his mind went on autopilot...
Tyler opened his phone, debating whether or not to try and contact Stacy for the Yule party. Was it really worth the effort any more, given the returns? He knew it was a cold way of looking at it, but he had a new life, and he wasn't in a particular mood to waste it waiting on someone.
He turned to take in the conversation, each detail and conversation of the room in his head. He played with a bit of cheek fluff, brushing it back with his fingertips.
"Mmmr..."

Adam perked up with a smile. "Oh, that makes sense! Okay then, no harm done." he said cheerfully, content. "Yes! It was a group effort; Terry and Blitz helped."
Charlotte peeked up. "Hey hey, we'll have to be a little careful...Wolfy flipped on Adam last night before he realized that mistletoe was hung."
Nix returned Charlotte's just as enthusiastically and with a smile. Then, a small fuss ensued to answer Gareus's question of a greeting. The girl opened her bag and reached into it, bringing out a notebook. Then, she reached up to her head for the pencil she usually kept there, only to find that it was gone. Nix thought as she began tapping her pockets to see if the pencil was in them. No luck. The girl sighed, then began rummaging through her bag. Her face lit up as she felt something promising and she proceeded to take out a new pencil. It was completely new... and unsharpened.
Nix's head dropped in disappointment, only to raise up slightly with an embarrassed and apologetic smile directed at Gareus. She made do with what she had and flipped her notebook open so that the back of the front cover could be seen. On it, in the upper left hand corner, was her name, "Nix Papillon." To make sure he saw, she pointed at the name with her free hand. She wasn't sure if she was in time, seeing how Gareus seemed to have already moved on into a conversation with Orrin, but she might as well try for a bit.

Gareus caught it in time, seeing her name, but curious as to why she couldn't have said so herself. He figured in the end that if she didn't say so herself, she had reasons, and there was no purpose or etiquette in delving now of all times.
"Hm, well I wouldn't want to hurt the poor man," Orrin agreed with a sad nod. "He's such a nice fellow when not thrown into protective rage..."
Tyler chuckled slightly at Nix's predicament, pulling a mechanical pencil from his bag and holding it out. "I didn't think people still used those anymore..." Behavioral observation pointed to a reason behind the silence, whether a vow, being mute, or otherwise.
She writes to communicate like Violet used to draw...except I think this is a bit more permanent. It was a distraction from the still open phone, Stacy's face hovering above her number in beckoning.

"I mean, I don't think he'll mind it half as much cause it's me, and not Enta. But he's taking over his family's company, so the last thing he needs is an extra thing to stress over." she cooed, patting his cheek. "But, since I don't believe we have to worry all that much~" She kissed his cheek cheerfully. "When's the party?"
Adam chuckled shyly. "It was my mistake."

Nix smiled cheerfully, glad to know that she was understood and wasn't thought harshly of for getting it late. At least, that's what she read from the friendly smirk.

Gareus brought himself back to the young girl with the silver eye, actually edging into a smile as he saw how grateful she was for the pencil and her enthusiastic scribbling of her thank you. The general air in the room was something of an intoxication now, so much life and family-like energy. He hugged his elbows and sat back against his seat, watching intently around him.
